I just love to confront Fox News Bill O’Reilly for shooting off his mouth and acting ignorant in the process. I have done so before as he attacked a pedophile victim named Shawn Hornbeck.

As I came upon this feed provided by CrooksAndLiars.com he equated, "reading far-left websites with devil-worship" Actually, when I do see him attacking a pedophile victim, I am just waiting for him to turn his head in a 360 and spit pea soup.

I first want to quote what Bill O’Reilly had to say of Shawn Hornbeck, “You know the Stockholm syndrome thing, I don't buy it, I never bought it, I don't think it happened in the Patty Hearst Case. I don't think it happened here.”

News to Billo (to borrow a term often used by Keith Olbermann when speaking of him), the news station that carries your broadcast, Fox News reported that the pedophile in this case,Michael Devlin pled guilty of these charges in which they wrote that he (Devlin), “pleaded guilty to dozens of child kidnapping and sodomy charges for the abduction and abuse of Ben Ownby and Shawn Hornbeck.”

Care to revise your opinion, O’Reilly? Pedophilia if one is speaking of any acts of Satan fills the bill. I know so since I have been addressing pedophilia for over ten years now. Oh and by the way, I do write for as you say, “left web sites” I may not be paid the hefty salary you make since I am not paid at all, but at least I go to bed with a clear conscience after writing every single piece. If you can go to sleep after shooting off your mouth, then it is you who is possessed.

Although I do not see them as being such, I do see many of them as filling the void often left empty by stations such as Fox News or to counter what they broadcast. We actually are the ones that are fair and balanced and speak truth to power unlike Fox Noise (Again, I am borrowing a phrase often used by Keith Olbermann).

He openly and blatantly stated that sites such as the Daily Kos have opined, “We’re glad that Tony Snow has cancer.” While I cannot speak on behalf of the Daily Kos, I did write a piece concerning Tony Snow’s bout with cancer titled, Edwards and Snow remind us that cancer is an equal opportunity terrorist. In my piece, I wrote this of both Elizabeth Edwards and Tony Snow, “In both cases, my prayers and thoughts are with them and their families.” Care to confront me, O’Reilly? Upon hearing of Snow’s cancer and while not agreeing with him in the past, I did see it in my heart to at least be compassionate. Acts of compassion are never equated with the worship of the devil, Satan or whichever demonic term one wishes to use.

In closing to attack pedophile victims such as Shawn Hornbeck or to state that writers for “left web sites” such as me are glad that men like Tony Snow has been battling cancer, it is none-other than Bill O’Reilly who is in need of an exorcism. The reason I say that is that exorcists who battle the devil in the Rituale Romanum will often state that the devil will lie and the same is directed at Bill O’Reilly.

Nonsensical statement. He wouldn't confront you, since you didn't wish Tony Snow ill will. I have seen some of these entries on Kos, on Democratic Blunderground and on Indymedia. Some of the comments on this site are also pretty disgusting.

Interesting

I watch O'Reilly on a daily basis because he is usually entertaining and provocative. He is not a journalist. I think that he made a serious mistake questioning Hornbeck's behavior in the way he did because it made it sound like he thought that Devlin was innocent. I am fairly certain that was not his intention although it almost sounded like it to me. I say it was not his intention because of O'Reilly's past history of wanting the severest penalties on the books for pedophiles. No one in the media can come close to his record on this issue.

The question that O'Reilly was addressing, I think, was why didn't Hornbeck escape from Devlin since he had what appeared to be ample opportunity to do so? The Stockholm synthrome is probably (I have no knowledge of prisoner-captor pyschological dynamics) just one of many possible explanations for why Hornbeck did not try to escape. The fact that Hornbeck didn't try to escape did not make what Devline did any less horrible. Devlin should be taken out and hung. I think, from watching O'Reilly for some time, that O'Reilly would agree with that.

My big issue with O'Reilly when it comes to pedophiles is mandatory sentencing. O'Reilly is fanatically for mandatory sentencing. Like most crimes what is called pedophilia is not always black and white. Like a 17 year old and a 15 year old. The 17 year old could be lableled as a pedophile by the law and because of mandatory sentencing laws be put away for a good part of his/her life. It is like cocaine mandatory sentencing laws. What the legislatures are trying to do is take sentencing out of the hands of judges and give it to the prosecutors. Judges are not and have not been perfect, but neither have prosecutors. I have personally seen a prosecutor use mandatory sentencing to extract an onerous plea bargain out of a friend's 15 year old child by threatening him with 20 years in our state's worst prison. Thank God, the judge found a middle ground that punished the child for what he did and allowed him to have a chance in life instead of going to school in prison for 20 years. The boy was tried as an adult because of the incompetence of his public defender - another big probllem.

I can assuredly say O'Reilly wants every convicted pedophile put away forever. I go a step further and think that hardcore pedophiles should be shot where it hurts before locking them up forever. But not every person charged with pedophilia though is clearly and conclusively a hardcore pedophile and that is the problem we have when it comes to mandatory sentencing.

I hope your article just wasn't a gratuitous attack on a conservative commentator/entertainer, but an attempt to reasonably discuss the pedophile sentencing problems we have in this country. O'Reilly isn't the problem from my point of view, pedophiles are. What say you?
