In my previous article in which I spoke of the $592 million dollar American embassy being built in Baghdad, and on the cusp of nine more soldiers that died yesterday just in time for Memorial Day, I want to reach out to the United States Congress and throttle them for approving this $95 billion dollar war supplemental bill.  The American people elected a Democratic majority to end this damn war and through their cowardice, they elected to extend it.

In my previous article, I pointed to an article that appeared in the UK Guardian in which congress voted on a $646 billion defense bill on May 17, 2007.  Contained within that article, they reported that this defense bill contains, an additional $142 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.” So, to our esteemed politicians; what is this $95 billion extra dollars for?  If you add both figures that comes out to a whopping $237 billion dollars.  That figure far exceeds the original amount asked for by this president.  Well you sure showed him; didn’t you?

You could have kept the troop withdrawal language within that bill to finally bring our troops home from a war that President Bush stated on Thursday will get bloodier.  If that above $142 billion dollar figure was for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he would have had money to fund the troops.  Care to shed a light for all of us what that money is allocated for?  In this alleged era of transparency, you owe the American people more importantly our troops an answer.

When President Bush said to those reporters gathered at the news conference, “If the Iraqi government asks us to leave, we will leave.” I wanted to throw something at my television set as our casualty rate stands at over 3,400 precious lives lost forever.  Well, President Bush we the American people in the last election told you we wanted out of Iraq, never mind what the Iraqi government says.  Even Tucker Carlson of MSNBC said he thought you should have been impeached for saying that.

As House, Republican leader John Boehner cried his crocodile tears stating, "After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to take them on? When are we going to defeat them," Perhaps if you held your president’s feet to the fire and stuck to fighting in Afghanistan and did not let him redeploy the troops that surrounded Tora Bora to Iraq, we could have had all of them by now.  To Mr. Boehner, terrorist networks extend all around this planet and we do not have the necessary troops to even think of fighting them.  That is what your president did.  He weakened our national security and God forbid another attack happens here, we are left defenseless both at home and abroad.  Here I thought Republicans could be trusted with our national security.

I want to remind John Boehner when Jim Rutenberg of the NY Times shot President Bush this question of Osama bin Laden, "Mr. President, why is he still at large?" President Bush replied, "Because we haven't got him yet, Jim." Well maybe if this president stuck to the original mission which was our answer back for 9/11, instead of this bloody quagmire he so valiantly called ‘Mission Accomplished’ three years ago; he could have delivered him by now.  No, the miscreant of a president executed a dictator that had NO connection to 9/11.

When NBC’s David Gregory asked of his credibility in fighting this war; what credibility is there to be had when the Commander in Chief fails at delivering to America “Dead or alive” who was the mastermind behind 9/11?

Yet, with this credibility deficit, our congress succumbed to this megalomaniac and gave in on the eve of Memorial Day.  I certainly hope that when all of them go home to their districts this weekend, they are met with angry constituents who told them in no uncertain terms they wanted this war ended back in the past election.

It still boggles the mind how a congress can reward a president to continue a war based upon lies.  It still boggles the mind that this cowardly congress refuses to impeach this president and vice president.  They have systematically picked off our soldiers one-by-one by invading a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks felt by our nation.  To Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, you were elected to be the third in line of succession to lead us and what you showed us was weakness.  You do not deserve the seat you currently occupy at the will of the people.  That equally goes for Majority leader, Harry Reid.  I call upon the both of you to resign your seats in honor of our slain troops.

In closing, we the American people ask that you not attend one single Memorial Day parade.  That day is reserved to honor the deaths of our brave soldiers and not to look upon cowards.
