She started off on the wrong foot by saying that impeachment was off the table before she even took office.

SCHIP was vetoed twice after having passed with majorities almost close enough to be veto proof, two votes the first time, and three votes the second time. Instead of gaining the two votes necessary to overcome the first veto, she lost a vote the second time around. Past Majority Leaders must be twirling in their graves. The one thing you do not do as majority leader is call for a vote the second time when you have lost ground. I suppose she could say that she didn’t know she was going to lose the second time around and by three vote instead of two, at that.

How many other votes has she lost because she can’t count? I don’t know, but I do know that she should be doing better than she is. Its past time to start looking around for a replacement. For crying out loud, she hasn’t even managed to stop the war in Iraq when all it takes is a majority vote to turn off the money spigot. And, that can be done without withdrawing support of the troops. In other words she could withhold new money and still support the troops with what money has already been appropriated. There is enough there to bring the troops home without pouring more money down the drain. We voted to assure her that she would have a majority, but she has done nothing but waste it.

Now, the question is who is there that could replace her as Majority Leader. Let me hear from you, who is your choice of a progressive Congressman who could be Majority Leader?

Majority Leader

All right, beside Kucinich who would make a good progressive Majority Leader? There must be someone or do we have to wait for the next election to elect progressives?  There are a bunch of us in our 70s who thought we could retire-I guess not. Dorothy, Lloyd, Beverly, Gerald, Margaret, Terry and a few not yet in they're 70s like Tony, David, etc.

Yes, Kucinich

would be perfect...he has guts and conviction...we the people no longer matter to the Congress..they see themselves as overlords and the people, as serfs and peasants...what was it Pelosi called us..."just constituents" while they are the leaders...I will never forgive or forget that botox bitch's, elitist B.S...I hope with all my heart that the people will rise up and throw these, highly paid,  corporate loving, Constitutional hating,  bums out of office...

Kucinich Was The Person

Unfortunately, the Power Elite, through corporate power, will make certain Kucinich is politically dead.  It is obvious the two party system is dead. Any political figure who speaks out is cast aside like garbage -- think not? Where is Tom Daschle who tried to have an independent investigator seek the truth of 9/11, who attempted to thwart the passage of the USA PATRIOT Act. etc.  First,, he was anthraxed, then vote counted out.  Where is Cynthia McKinney who took a long stand at having 9/11 investigated by an independent? Vote counted out. Where is Paul Wellstone who voted against giving Bush authority to illegally attack Iraq?

I think the point is made --- go against the strippi9ng of our Democracy or be gone.
