Open Discussion Thread: How we can Save our Country from Fascism

Tell A Friend

A) While the presidential primaries are on the public radar, this is a good time to submit letters to the editor in order to influence public opinion about who to vote for.

If we write our own opinions and "I am voting for so-and-so", that will do no good. Instead, perhaps if we write fact-based matters, such as who voted for what bill and what the concerns are, and who stood on what positive ground to the public service of all, then we will be effective in influencing public opinion--and helping to turn out votes for the right people.

B) This is also a good time to write open letters to the media, Congress, et al.

People are wrong in assuming that Congress won't care:

Politicians have to "Sell" themselves to the public in order to be elected. They have to maintain the public favor in order to stay in public office. Therefore, open letters are bound to affect them politically.

Witness the multiple resignations which are historical in numbers, beyond what our country has ever seen: That's all because scandals are coming to light. So obviously, what the masses think affects politicians plenty. Nobody wants their wrongs exposed to the light of day.

And that is just where We, the PEople *do* have power. We *can* expose their wrong-doings in letters to the editor, on blogs ,etc. And it *will* make a difference *if* the greater masses are reached and concur. The truth has power!

The lone voice will go to the winds: It's true. But there certainly is a strength in numbers. And we must all remember that. If we *all* team up together as a grassroots wave, with the grassroots as powerful as it is now, we can have the impact of a tsunami.

LET'S WRITE LOTS OF OPEN LETTERS TO CONGRESS, THE MEDIA, ET AL AND POST THEM EVERYWHERE, EVERYWHERE! Send them by e-mail and ask friends to pass them on. Write your editors. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go! Democracy----and our children----will thank us.

C) It's time to demand that Constitution-offending Congresspeople step down from public office. First a scathing exposee as open letter to the public and the individual Congressperson, then (as part of that exposee) a demand that they step down, asking for the public to join in with their own demands. We don't have to march in order to be effective: The power of the pen----and the truth-----can be plenty effective.

D) If the Thought Crimes Bill really is passed into law, and if it already is being implemented without the Senate passing it, then it's time to go into another kind of action.

If Government infiltrators are going to spy on our college kids on campus, we can spy right back on them. And report what they are doing to the local editors (if the mainstream news won't touch it) and to the ACLU, the CEnter for Constitutional Rights, etc in order to get lawsuits going.

www.aclu.org ACLU's website/contact info

www.ccr.com or www.centerforconstitutionalrights.com Center for COnstitutional Rights's website

If the Government attacks our free speech because of Internet-related matters, we also can contact the Electronic Frontier Foundation www.eff.org they are quite good.

Based on local violations, we can also ask our County Supervisors and City Councils to make public statements and to pass resolutions against the Thought Crimes Bill.

A writer is a rogue goose. All other gees fly in a flock formation; every goose knows his place and time for honking. The rogue goose is undisciplined. He leaves the formation indiscriminately to have a look at it from aside. He roams back and forth, takes a peep at the leader, honks a little bit from behind, distracts everyone and writes on what he sees. Time passes and as he wants to return back to his place he discovers someone else there. Thus he either has to wait until they land for rest...

Demand a trial

1. make a movement for the:

a) Trial of 9/11 events

b) Trial of Katrina ( civil suite)

c) Trial of the Iraqi war start ( lying for treason)

Organize  the proceedings for those trials in Canada with broadcasting here.  Invite popular jurists like Vincent Bugliosi.  Issue verdicts.

2. Demand a Congress of the Popular Front- all antifascist forces to unite in one.  Invite the whole spectrum from  Buchanan conservatists to socialists. Invite  illegal immigrants to join the movement.

On the RP rEVOLution trail

We collectively found that MSM wouldn't publish our letters in a period from March through July.  Everyone who wrote letters reported several incidents such as mine.

I decided that I would write about Ron Paul to Letters to the Editor focusing on issues that were pertnante to MY county, state, community.  One BIG issue here is Medical Marijuana.  So I wrote a letter explaining why Ron Paul was the best candidate for Medical Marijuana supporters.  nothing.  OK.  There are more issues, healthcare, energy, education, SS...the paper would not publish any of my letters and there were NO letters about Ron Paul between SF and Washington State.,,So I call the paper and ask to talk to someone about what I am not doing.  I was told by a manager of the paper that covers three counties in CA, "THIS IS HILLARY COUNTRY.  We do not serve YOU.  We do NOT support Ron Paul!".  The Ron Paul Meetup groups roared over this kind of trreatment, which I think is part of what lead the rEVOLution to chase Hannity into the building.

It is what fueled the rEVOLution to fund blimps, money bombs, billboards, to rule YouTube and on line polls...It was MSM arrogant rejection of us that lit the fuse.

GOOD LUCK to your effort.  I'll be curious to see if you do better that us, all things being equal.  ;))

trouble

Today Americans are more removed from fighting for freedom than at any time in  history

Americans  have their  eyes glued to  video screens insted of marching in the streets

as long as everyone is a silent protestor and too lazy to get out  and into the streets

they will continue to  march to march to the day when polish troops

dressed in Black water uniforms demand to see your papers please

Let's do our best to keep our eyes on the solution/hope

Hello friends

I fully understand the discouragement and depression behind some of the posts here. I share your feelings, to be honest. And that is why I tried my best to post a hope-filled message.

Because if we don' t keep our eyes on the hope, we WILL lose. And we CAN'T. Dictatorship is too serious/dangerous a matter to just let happen, by depression or other truly understandable cause. If you think it's difficult now, just wait. Or better yet, don't. Too dangerous a fire to play with.

HERE'S HOW WE CAN CUT THROUGH THE MEDIA BLACK-OUT:

a) If major newspapers won't print a certain thing, try the local papers. And you might be surprised at how much outreach even a small paper can have. You might reach activist organizations, a politician, a movie-maker----just as is my personal experience even with one small newspaper I wrote to, by the way.

b) Try the college newsletter editors. Ask them to print your letter if the mainstream won't.

c) Dial in to radio talk shows and speak out.

d) Post to the Internet: That's where we have lots of outreach.

e) Preaching to the choir when posting to the Internet? I have good news for you: PReaching to the choir actually works! WHen you get a wave of like-minded people going, share information which strengthens your common position, etc the wave grows and gathers momentum. As it grows, others end up joining in. Because the strength in numbers, and the firmness of conviction, gives the movement credibility. So don't be afraid to preach to the choir: It gets results!

f) Other ideas? Please post! I want to see them! I am interested and will draw strength and hope of my own from what you have to say!

THANK YOU so much for the ideas about investigations above. I appreciate this input! I will stay in touch iwth the posts here and will compile ideas to an article (if there is anything posted which you don't want me to print, please say so now).

Thank you, Kathryn Smith

Don't Vote

Exercise the right to NOT VOTE. If no one votes, there are no votes to be manipulated.

Just a thought . . . be curious to see what happened next?
