Rice should have been canned when she blew the 9/11 warning. If she had been fired, she would not have become Secretary of State for foreign photo opportunities. If McCain wants his themes to be Defense and Security, could he be obtuse enough to pick her?
It is unclear whether she was "in bed," figuratively speaking, of course, with the Neocons or just couldn't stand up to them in Bush's long epic failure of foreign policy.
