Medicare is not.............
socialized medicine, it's subsidized medicine. You still have choices you can make with Medicare. If you want a true example of socialized medicine you need look no further than the VA. Trust me when I tell you it's not as grand as you think. I've been waiting 2 years for a colonoscopy. Why? Because I'm not bleeding yet,I guess. And it's not that vets are treated poorly either, it's a lack of money. The same will hold true if we ever have a national health care program. And you can tax the wealthy until their eyeballs bleed and you've taken every penny they have, but it still won't be enough. You had better be bleeding or seizing if you expect anything quick to happen. If you're not, then grab a number and kick back because it's going to be a while. by larry booth (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 303 comments) on Thursday, Aug 2, 2007 at 8:11:44 PM

Reply: I Know Medicare Is NOT "Socialized Medicine".....
THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT ! Right-Wing LIARS say it IS ! It is socialized insurance that can be used for PRIVATE medical care ! However, Right-Wing LIARS know they can demonize it by invoking their magically murderous words on idiot talk radio. MEDICARE FOR ALL ! LIARS OFF THE AIR ! LIARS OUT OF CONGRESS ! by Jay Diamond (8 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 12 comments) on Thursday, Aug 2, 2007 at 9:27:46 PM

Truth doctrine?
Please tell us you're not advocating kicking conservative talk show hosts off the air by government fiat or any other method. I despise the crap that Air America and Nova M spews into the atmosphere, but I would never try to kick them off the air. The 1st Amendment applies to everyone. by Scott (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 745 comments [30 recommended, 3 rejected]) on Thursday, Aug 2, 2007 at 11:47:34 PM

Reply: Observe the Instructive Priorities of this "Damail", Above
He has not one word to say about the lies of both a sitting congressman and a commercial radio host who are both urinating on their responsibilty to the millions who comprise their audience and constituents respectively ! No, he's all ruffled up because one of those citizens and audience members is offended by their relentless dishonesty and the insult this represents to the people from whose trough they feed. Hey "Damail", I don't know where you studied constitutional law, but the first amendment doesn't entitle a liar to a radio show, nor does it guarantee a despicable traitor to the truth a seat in the United States congress. The lying doesn't seem to bother you though. by Jay Diamond (8 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 12 comments) on Friday, Aug 3, 2007 at 3:46:22 AM

hah-hah, good response.
No kidding. I liked your response and I would like to add that people in France do indeed still have a choice. Furthermore, they're healthier -and live longer - so we know conclusively, that it works. by RCG (3 articles, 0 quicklinks, 3 diaries, 348 comments) on Friday, Aug 3, 2007 at 12:00:56 AM

No one needs to kick them off the air...however,,,,
...however, there need to be other "equal" voices heard to call them on their bullshit. If that were to happen people would become incensed and their viewership would drop. People would actually come to despise them for what they are. Additionally, they need to be held responsible for the lies and propaganda that they knowingly spread. They need to be held responsible for the damage that they do. If we had that then the TRUTH would get to the masses. by RCG (3 articles, 0 quicklinks, 3 diaries, 348 comments) on Friday, Aug 3, 2007 at 12:05:53 AM

Reply: People in France..............
live longer because they get 40 weeks of vacation a year. They don't do anything to wear themselves out. As to equal time, what about Air America? There are plenty of liberal radio people around. The problem is that no one seems to want to listen to them. I've got to be honest with you, most of the ones I've listened to are boring. You have to be entertaining in this society. That's just the way it is. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but in a free market you have to compete. Besides, you're assuming that every person who listens to a conservative radio show is instantly turned into a right wing zombie. Give your fellow citizens some credit for being at least as smart as yourselves. by larry booth (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 303 comments) on Friday, Aug 3, 2007 at 6:55:09 PM

Hey, Jay Diamond
These people are not liars or traitors. I tend to think some of the people over at Nova M and Air America might fall into those categories. That is my opinion. You have a different opinion? Fine. This is still the point: You will not censor any of these voices, right-wing or left-wing. We are talking about American Constitutional law, not North Korean Constitutional law. by Scott (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 745 comments [30 recommended, 3 rejected]) on Saturday, Aug 4, 2007 at 12:24:40 PM
