The Fairness Doctrine Isn't Enough !

The Fairness Doctrine Isn't Enough !
We need a truth Doctrine here. Now.

Last night I weakened and switched on one of the many cookie-cutter variety low-brow, rightwing gargoyles whose customary habitat is lie-talk radio.

And there was the horrible Mark Levin, an individual whose physiognomy meshes so perfectly with his voice and emotional life.

Anyway, this screaming poison played a 46 year old tape of Ronald Reagan inveighing against the evils of the incipient Medicare program, which, you must remember, was only an idea back in 1961.

What is amusing about this foray into the dear dead Reaganite past is that here is Reagan (whose name was pronounced "Reegan", especially by other right wingers in those days).....here was Reagan going nuts about how Socialism was upon us and how it would definitely be the end of America and the end of Freedom if this evil public health program for the elderly were to be passed.

Well, guess what....five years later it was passed, and the world and the United States didn't end in a blaze of evil socialism.

In fact, twenty years later, when Reagan was running for president, and later, when he was sworn in....he uttered not a word about abolishing the evil plague of Medicare, of which he had warned us all in such dire tones some twenty years earlier.

And surprise, surprise....Even in the midst of their perpetual denunciations of national health insurance with the very same incantations of the dreaded socialism that Reagan had intoned all those years ago in his effort to scare mom and pop and grampa and grandma out of their right to health; not one, not even a single one of these anti-socialism gladiators, would dare get in front of even the most fevered GOP audience and promise to be the first to eradicate Medicare.

As I write this Peter King is on WABC-AM in NYC openly lying to the audience in tandem with host John Gambling to the effect that national health insurance will bring about the destruction of America and that it has never worked anywhere in the world it has been established.

Well, never mind that the inhabitants of France, Germany, Canada, and Israel, and every other advanced nation in the world seem to be thriving with their national health plans, we ourselves, right here in the USA have over 65 million people on Medicare, which to these lying slobs is "socialized medicine".

And why do the same GOP jerks pick our revered troops upon whom to specifically inflict this dreaded socialism along with gramps and nanna all the while scorching the air with fiery slanders of socialized medicine.

Pretty handy that the Business Lobby came up with some magic words that can stop legitimate debate in its tracks in the land of the free and the home of the knave!

So how can it possibly be that in the midst of their acrid lies and denunciations of what they call "socialized medicine" not one of these heroes ever calls for the termination of the "socialized medicine" we have right here, right now!?

That's Easy.

They know that nobody thinks of Medicare as the evil "socialized medicine" for the express reason that it works and they like it!

So therefore they don't associate that very same Medicare they trust and rely on with anything "evil" like "socialized medicine".

And the GOP Big Business boys know they like it, and also know they would
massacre at the polls anybody who tried to take it away form them.
Need proof?
Just think back only two years to when Mr. Mandate used his "political capital" on trying to snooker mom and pop out of their Social Security. All of a sudden all these "conservatives" weren't so conservative as they mulled over the pig in a poke of private equities against that reliable monthly check. And no scare mongering about bin Laden or "Socialism" could change their minds.

As I am writing this I called in on John Gambling right after the "interview" with the wretchedly dishonest Peter King, R-NY.

I asked the weak Gambling if Medicare was socialized medicine. He seemed caught off guard and stammered that it was, and I then asked him which of the very same GOP candidates crusading against "socialized medicine" would be the first to promise he would put an end to Medicare in deference to our country's great principles of private enterprise.

He hung up.

So let's have no more nonsense about any "Fairness Doctrine"!
We need a Truth Doctrine right here and right now to finally put an end to the steady torrent of destructive, death-dealing bullshit blasted out the anuses of the low-brow, right-wing radio death squads who have been terrorizing America with mass poison for the last thirty years.

And whoever has a problem with simply telling the truth should get the hell out of the business of speaking to the public on the radio.....PERIOD !

Medicare is not.............

socialized medicine, it's subsidized medicine. You still have choices you can make with Medicare. If you want a true example of socialized medicine you need look no further than the VA. Trust me when I tell you it's not as grand as you think. I've been waiting  2 years for a colonoscopy. Why? Because I'm not bleeding yet,I guess. And it's not that vets are treated poorly either, it's a lack of money. The same will hold true if we ever have a national health care program. And you can tax the wealthy until their eyeballs bleed and you've taken every penny they have, but it still won't be enough. You had better be bleeding or seizing if you expect anything quick to happen. If you're not, then grab a number and kick back because it's going to be a while.

Reply: I Know Medicare Is NOT "Socialized Medicine".....

THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT !

Right-Wing LIARS say it IS !

It is socialized insurance that can be used for PRIVATE medical care !

However, Right-Wing LIARS know they can demonize it by invoking their magically murderous words on idiot talk radio.

 MEDICARE FOR ALL !

 LIARS OFF THE AIR !

LIARS OUT OF CONGRESS !

Truth doctrine?

Please tell us you're not advocating kicking conservative talk show hosts off the air by government fiat or any other method. I despise the crap that Air America and Nova M spews into the atmosphere, but I would never try to kick them off the air. The 1st Amendment applies to everyone.

Reply: Observe the Instructive Priorities of this "Damail", Above

He has not one word to say about the lies of both a sitting congressman and a commercial radio host who are both urinating on their responsibilty to the millions who comprise their audience and constituents respectively !

No, he's all ruffled up because one of those citizens and audience members is offended by their relentless dishonesty and the insult this represents to the people from whose trough they feed.

Hey "Damail", I don't know where you studied constitutional law, but the first amendment doesn't entitle a liar to a radio show, nor does it guarantee a despicable traitor to the truth a seat in the United States congress.

The lying doesn't seem to bother you though.

hah-hah, good response.

No kidding. I liked your response and I would like to add that people in France do indeed still have a choice. Furthermore, they're healthier -and live longer - so we know conclusively, that it works.

No one needs to kick them off the air...however,,,,

...however, there need to be other "equal" voices heard to call them on their bullshit. If that were to happen people would become incensed and their viewership would drop. People would actually come to despise them for what they are. Additionally, they need to be held responsible for the lies and propaganda that they knowingly spread. They need to be held responsible for the damage that they do. If we had that then the TRUTH would get to the masses.

Reply: People in France..............

live longer because they get 40 weeks of vacation a year. They don't do anything to wear themselves out. As to equal time, what about Air America? There are plenty of liberal radio people around. The problem is that no one seems to want to listen to them. I've got to be honest with you, most of the ones I've listened to are boring. You have to be entertaining in this society. That's just the way it is. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but in a free market you have to compete. Besides, you're assuming that every person who listens to a conservative radio show is instantly turned into a right wing zombie. Give your fellow citizens some credit for being at least as smart as yourselves.

Hey, Jay Diamond

These people are not liars or traitors. I tend to think some of the people over at Nova M and Air America might fall into those categories. That is my opinion. You have a different opinion? Fine. This is still the point: You will not censor any of these voices, right-wing or left-wing. We are talking about American Constitutional law, not North Korean Constitutional law.
