déjà vu all over again…

The February 27, 2008 episode of the “Voice of the Voters” radio broadcast, was by necessity a golden oldie. Long time host of “Voice of the Voters” Mary Ann Gould, was taking a long over due and much needed sabbatical. She will return in the near future with batteries fully recharged and with all guns blazing.

However, it was again informative and inspiring to listen to the commentary of Mary Ann’s October 31, 2007 interview with Harvard University Professor Dr. Rosabeth M. Kanter. Ms. Gould and Professor Kanter have similar academic and work backgrounds with the mechanisms to bring about change within an organization. Mary Ann knew which questions to ask in order to bring about the most meaningful commentary from Dr. Kanter. The end result is one of my favorite Voice of the Voters broadcasts.

Following Dr. Kanter, the author shared his thoughts about a pivotal point brought up during the Gould/Kanter interview. Dr. Kanter discussed the importance of community. I capitalized on that thought and offered the idea that locally in Pennsylvania an opportunity exists for all Pennsylvania residents to coalesce into a sword point of political action. Pennsylvania may become Florida of 2000, but with out the hanging chads. Pennsylvania has the highest percentage of computer based voting machines per voting district than any other state. No where in America is there a greater need for voters to come together as community and make their voices heard.

As offered during the broadcast, to contact Governor Ed Rendell, call 717-787-2500, and tell them you have a message for the Governor. Also, Bucks County may become the focal point for voting irregularities in our Keystone State, and by contacting the County Commissioners and letting them know in polite but strong terms that they should support a paper based voting system, you will be doing your duty as a private citizen and becoming part of the voting integrity community. Bucks County Commissioners may be contacted at 215-348-6000. Let them know that the clock is ticking, and that a voting integrity bomb needs to be defused. Tell them to think PAPER.

Remember….Mary Ann Gould is taking a brief time away from the microphone, she will return soon with new guests and fresh ideas and information.
