George Bush and his merry band of Republicans want to torture and kill me. For some bizarre reason they will not let embryos destined for the refuse pile be retrieved and used by science in experiments that might end or alleviate the diabetes from which I and millions of others suffer.

Fertility clinics have a surfeit of embryos. The ones not used are eventually tossed. This apparently is, in some odd and uncompassionate way, part of someone's God's plan for humanity. Apparently there is an eleventh commandment that proscribes the use of an intended waste product for the benefit of humankind.

The man whose policy in Iraq rains down death everyday on embryos, zygotes, fetuses, the newly born, toddlers, teens, adults and the aged tells us that to utilize the trash bound contents of a petri dish for use in medical science is murder. And who says that life is not absurd.

In other words the Republicans are quite happy to let me and my fellow victims of this ailment go blind, let our feet rot, let our kidneys and liver fail and in the process pile up tremendous personal and financial costs and untold suffering rather than lighten the load of the trash truck. Somehow there is something amiss when politicians find it morally and legally fitting to destroy an embryo in a garbage disposal but pontificate it is sacred and forbid its use to save human life.

We are led by absolute nut cases. It does not brighten the outlook for the future that a third of polled Americans support their insanity.

irwin like the president is a texan. irwin unlike the president does no believe that god has told him to slaughter people.
