How long will it take the people of the world to realize that no matter how far apart they are, they depend on each other's resources and are affected by each other's behavior?
It is important to understand why people in different parts of the world fought wars over the years. The common reasons for all wars has always been greed or ideology. However, more lately war has been politicized and Economized. Wars are set sometimes on purpose to export local pressure or deflate it. Wars also have been set on purpose because the lack of war can be disastrous on certain factories or production lines.
It is hard nowadays to find a just war. It is far from logic that nation A announces that a natural resource of nation B is considered of vital interest to it ( nation A ) as if nation B doesn't own it's own resources , but rather act as guardian for nation B to these resources. In this case it is not logic that is talking but, rather, military might and fire power.
Recent conflicts and current ones such as the Arab-Israeli wars, the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the Iran-Iraq war and the war in Bosnia and west Sudan, all proved no matter how many wars we have and no mater how long they are and no mater how big is the strength and capability difference between the fighting parties, there have been no winners and every one lost.
If you add to that the spread of terrorism in coverage and diversity and the potential larger scale damage that terrorism can cause against which military might can not do much, one reaches a conclusion that it is time that nations start talking honestly and stop conspiring against each other. It is time that governments and intelligence agencies have the same agenda.
There is no point that the president of nation A meets and greets the president of nation B and sign all kinds of agreements, while the intelligence agencies of both nations are working hard to plot against each other. Both nation A and nation B have children who have gone to bed after doing homework and hoping to meet their fellow students in the school the next morning. Both nations have real people who seek decent living and want to dine out, go to the movies and have fun in the weekend.

It remains remarkably easy for our "leaders" to use fear, lies, patriotism, nationalism, xenophobia, and religion to demonize the other. The real powers, the bankers, multinational corporations, and Wall Street money manipulators, remain behind the scenes playing their grand game of chess with other peoples' lives. Citizens of the world have to come together in unity to be able to stop the destruction of the greedy few. We are all in the same sinking boat while they fight over who will be the captain in command.
