But there's something else you can do to save the country.
What?
Meeting with as many state troopers, marshals, police captains, national guardsmen, soldiers and other folks who would actually be tasked with implementing martial law if and when the powers-that-be decide that velvet-gloved "soft fascism" is no longer working or moving their plans along fast enough.
Many police officers, guardsmen and military personnel are good people who simply don't know what's really going on in America.
As former officers, it is possible that they will respect and look up to you. If you educate them with the most well-documented facts about our country's descent into fascism, then you will be planting vital seeds of truth.
One day, the people you talk to (and those they speak with) just might say "no" if they are asked to carry out illegal orders to imprison, kill or torture Americans simply for exercising their lawful, constitutional rights to criticize the government.
Who knows? By talking to them with respect and truth, they may one day even help to expose the crimes or arrest those criminals who are using their positions within the U.S. government or the defense industry to destroy the nation and line their own pockets (for example, these guys).

George WashingtonGeorge Washington is a pen name. I am using the pen name, with the approval of the publisher, because I have received death threats due to my 9/11 research and writing. I am using a pen name to protect myself and my family.
The oath that service members take is to "Defend the Constitution" - not "save America". I believe that with your thoughts on what it'd take to "save America", military personnel would be forced to accept a less disciplined, poorly defined, and therefore, more subjective interpretation of not just the command and control structure but the oath and Constitution, as well.
The problem with this forcing is that the military has evolved and matured over the past 230+ years. You don't survive that long and remain that effective by loosely interpreting established rules and regulations. While the military has often been used as an agent of social change (e.g., vaccinations, integration, and individual rights), using it to question the military values would only result in its self-destruction and rendering of its long-lived and proven structure and traditions.
In my opinion, one of the most memorable film captures of the military "essence" and being a part of something decidedly unique is in the movie "Gardens of Stone by Francis Ford Coppola - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093073/ .
SGM "Goody" Nelson: Well, here's to us and those like us. SFC Clell Hazard: Damn few left.
May I recommend that if you remain steadfast in your belief that fascism of the Nazi kind is upon us, you should address the concern at its source and not the periphery. Forward political candidates into the election process that understand and agree with your assessment and have them file the appropriate legislation to advance your beliefs. Picking away at the edges is very ineffective and inefficient. Additionally, such an approach could result in unintended consequences because of the large population of people you are forced to address.

YES -- defendning the Constitution. That's EXACTLY what I am hoping for!
Now, as far as candidates, if the vote is rigged, then "Houston, we have a problem".
"It's not who votes that counts, it's who counts the votes," Joseph Stalin
Remember, also, that fascists in America would NOT copy Hitler or Mussolini. They would adopt uniquely American cultural attributes, just as Hitler adopted uniquely German cultural attributes and Mussolini uniquely Italian cultural attributes and Stalin uniquely Russian cultural attributes.

I agree on the support and defend the Constitution. I disagree, though, with your "saving America". But as I said before, I do NOT see America as being fascist or becoming fascist. Saving America is subjective and based upon what needs saving as being a legitimate issue.
Has the current Administration pushed conservative ideology? Yes, even aggresively. Do I personally agree with this pushing? Not really. I agree with the conservative agenda but also understand that there's a practical reality with how hard or how much you should push.
I believe the agenda has been advanced in too short of a time frame, given the situations facing the Nation. That is NOT the same thing as the agenda and Adminsitration (by association) being fascist. As a reminder (not that you need one but others may), fascism is defined as a "political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition".
While you might think that the Administration, its agenda, and its tactics are fascist, they do not fit the overall definition assigned to fascism - when compared to the facts and not opinion.
