An OPEN LETTER to the United States House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, the Honorable John Conyers presiding.

Fellow Citizens: I seek to provide you a means by which to effect the peaceful overthrow of tyranny. There shall be no mistake about it, a usurper has acquired power in America. He seeks to make it absolute. You are now called upon to demand the excercise of congressional responsibility. He and his aides lie to us on television and berate us for our disbelief. He speaks to us flanked by a photograph of family and our flag which he wears on his lapel. Beside him stands a bust of Abraham Lincoln. He confesses to crimes against the Constitution and believes he speaks exoneration.

His invasion of Iraq violated the United Nations Charter, which "prohibits the use of military force" against any nation without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, which never approved the invasion of Iraq.

Also, his invasion of Iraq was not in compliance with the House Joint Resolution 114 "Authorization to Use Military Force", in that the "most critical WHEREAS clauses" contained therein were not complied with, including the provision that "(d) Nothing in this Joint Resolution...(1) is intended to alter...the provison of existing treaties".

Therefore, "Bush Exceeded the Authority of HJR 114" Link CLICK HERE http://www.impeachbush.tv/args/noiraqauthority.html thereby making his invasion and occupation of Iraq, and everything that followed, totally illegal and immoral from the very first day, "the supreme crime against humanity, an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign nation", as defined at Nuremberg.

Chairman Conyers is called upon to prosecute this crime against humanity.

Most certainly, if and when he does, he would only be doing his job.

Expectations?

We were in the service at about the same time.  Surely we both learned then that what we expected had nothing much to do with reality.  'Our' representatives are actually corporate owned, after all...who was it that filled their bank accounts?

It is my opinion and experience that our government exists solely to assist in the transfer of money from the taxpaying public to the corporations.  The rich keep getting richer, though it never cures their sickness.

how to get back to basics

While both parties are drinking out the same trough we can remind them that they swore an oath not to a person or a policy but to our Constitution. Once they remember after having a good drink they'll be ready to get back to the basics, "accountability", "the rule of law", "checks and balances", and the good old proven time tested American value "raise a little hell" and get the job done. a wake up call

guy - it's a "wake up call". Over 90 cities have now passed Resolutions calling for impeachment.

I believe you can't get any closer to the very heart and soul of America than when our city councils all across the nation are demanding impeachment action by the 110th Democratic Congress.

The peace loving people of America have already spoken, millions of citizens. Over 230,000 patriots have signed on to Rep Robert Wexler's ONLINE PETITION urging Chairman John Conyers to schedule immediate impeachment hearings at www.WexlerWantsHearings.com It's "a wake up call". No doubt about it.

Over 1 million folks have signed on to Ramsey Clark's online Referendum demanding impeachment at www.impeachbush.org

Everything has already been done by the freedom loving American people to wake up this Congress.

GENE CAPPA

Didn't know about the 90 city councils. I've sent over a thousand emails to this congress since we sent them to Washington, over a hundred to John Conyers reminding him of all the promises he made before we sent him there. John conyers has a job description to fulfill regardless of what Nancy Pelosi says.

thanx for the info

A quote from Thomas Jefferson

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants", we must stop begging at the feet of the elite, who work in Washington, DC, our seat of "government."

It's time for a revolution.  Sorry to say.

Benjamin Franklin quickly replied

After our Constitutional Convention concluded a reporter asked Benjamin Franklin "well, what do we have?", and Franklin quickly replied "it's a Republic, if you can keep it".

Franklin's esteemed and honorable colleague Thomas Jefferson assured that an "impeachment clause" be contained in our Constitution therein, and in fact, "impeachment" is included eight times in the Constitution meaning that from that day forward our founding fathers were assuring the American people a peaceful remedy for any potential misdeeds, high crimes or even misdemenaors in high office.

Respectful of the intentions of our founding fathers and ever faithful to our Constitution WE must press forward now peacefully and honorably by our petitions, letters, and our ballot box, to stir our 110th Democractic Congress for redress and relief to our most urgent grievances and concerns, God willing.
