Speaker Pelosi:


I am writing to you as representative of the 500 members of the Progressive Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains to express our outrage at your positions on ending the funding for the war and on impeachment.


We are hoping that you are just waiting until you are sworn in to reveal your true agenda the agenda the people of the United States of America elected you to enact, and that you are holding back so the shredding doesn't begin before the subpoenas can be issued.


We are hoping that you and the rest of the Democrats are not in the pocket of the defense contractors and other war profiteers.


We are at a loss to explain why Gates was given a free pass. He had to withdraw his name as head of the CIA because of all his dirty dealing. If anyone is worse than Rumsfield, Gates is the one.


I have all I can do to keep my members from just giving up. We gave our hard-earned money, neglected our families and our jobs and even aggravated our arthritis and ignored other medical conditions to spend our time getting Democrats elected and for what? So that you all can get nicer offices and continue sticking it to the American people who voted for you?


How very cynical of you. I hope you enjoyed your lunch with war criminal Bush. You looked very pretty in your Armani suit. I was too busy and too broke from my political activities to shop for pretty clothes.


I am sure this letter, along with all the others will find its way into your "round file" but a copy will be sent to all my members and they will send it to their lists and on and on.


So enjoy yourself for now, but we will not sit by silently while you refuse to act to reinstate habeas corpus even for citizens (i.e. Jose Padilla is he guilty of anything?) allow our Constitution to be shredded, fund this filthy war and allow Bush to smirk his way through another 2 years. We will write, call, picket, sit in, and do whatever it takes to get our country back.
