Imus Symptomatic of Rage Media Everywhere
.
.

The Limbaughs, the Glenn Becks, Laura Ingrams, Michael Savages, Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity and -- it goes on. The plan to keep us all in war mode has just churned up a bit of sludge from the above mentioned murky pool sampling. It remains to be seen if this latest, in growing list of wake-up calls, will be heeded beyond the latest media feeding frenzy, or merely overridden when yet another administration scandal bubbles to the surface. The swamp needs to be vacuumed -- yesterday.
.
One of my better choices was giving up rage radio for books on CD. I push the same buttons and get great entertainment and learning of choice rather than force-fed propaganda, neither of which is entertaining nor chosen. We're being manipulated in a myriad of ways through media, through Orwellian "no child left behind" education programs and through the elimination of the middle class. It's a long list.

"The whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought."

Update: replace "Newspeak" with Bushco and understand we're fast     approaching serfdom.

Orwell:
..

"Wealth and privilege are most easily defended when they are possessed jointly. The so-called 'abolition of private property' put the concentration of property in far fewer hands than before: but with this difference, the new owners were a group instead of a mass of individuals. Individually, no member of the Party owns anything, except petty personal belongings. Collectively, the Party owns everything in Oceania, because it controls everything, and disposes of the products as it thinks fit. In the years following the Revolution it was able to step into this commanding position almost unopposed, because the whole process was represented as an act of collectivization. It had always been assumed that if the capitalist class were expropriated, Socialism must follow: and unquestionably, the capitalists had been expropriated. Factories, mines, land, houses, transport - everything had been taken away from them: and since these things were no longer private property, it followed that they must be public property. Ingsoc, which grew out of the earlier Socialist movement and inherited its phraseology, has in fact carried out the main item in the Socialist programme; with the result, foreseen and intended beforehand, that economic inequality has been made permanent.".

And it continues. It will be interesting to see if there will indeed be changes in the way 'things are done' in corporate and corporate Washington, i.e., if its even possible to drain such a huge swamp. I have my doubts. Imus might very well be an instrument of stifling at least a portion of rage polluting the air waves 24/7 as dire and serious as global warming to the psyche of Americans. If you consider the scientific theory of 'everything,' it takes little imagination to understand the connection.
.
Those of us active in such matters will keep on keeping on and hoping for the best outcome: change toward a more accountable system, our system. We
have as much choice to hold polluters' feet to the fire as we have to correct the planet's imbalance.  It's serious.
