Queasy About A Stolen Election? Toughen Up

Late last week, the Miami Herald confirmed our fears that electronic voting machines have been rigged to keep us under the subjugation of the Republican Party. Think about that, America. More than 75 percent of the American electorate wants to get rid of this Republican dictatorship, but they've figured out a way to bypass your consent!

Some Democrats don't want me to tell you the cold hard facts. They think that if I do you will cower in your home on Election Day and pout to yourself. They think that you'll say to yourself, "I'm not going to vote because my vote is only going to get stolen, boohoo." If anything, this ought to get you fired up. You ought to be whistling Ride of the Valkyries all the way to the polls.

If you are angry that these caviar class autocrats are stealing your vote, you better turn up on Election Day with a video camera and a fistful of words. You ought to put on your brass knuckles and your game face. You better show up and tell the local media what you'd like to do to the scum who stole your vote.

Voting is the tailgate party for this election. You better be ready to show up for the game, which is going to feature even conservatives who once voted for President Bush protesting this ignominious desiccation of our democracy. But you can only protest this thievery if you cast a vote in the first place.

If, and no doubt when, the Republicans squeeze out a majority in the House and Senate despite contradictory exit polls, opinion polls, interviews and news reports, Democrats should walk out of Congress until republicans ceed unlawful control of the House.

Forget about fried chicken fundraisers and campaign trail debates; forget about bus tours or recounts. There is no playbook for this election. Forget protocol. When the "votes" are tallied and the Republicans have astonishingly won despite widespread outrage, Democrats must accept the call of history, capture historical immortality, grab worldwide headlines and walk out of Congress.

Every day that they stay out of Congress is another day America reflects on the villainous deception of the tuxedo class Republicans. Every day that Democrats stay out of Congress is another day of mounting pressure for the Republicans to cease and desist. Every day that they stay out of power is a victory for democracy, a triumph for the constitution and a signal to the world that here in America we will not let dictators rule.

Every day out of Congress is a challenge to the media which has tried to remain objective and unbiased amid a sea of assaults against our constitution; every day is a wakeup call to apathetic Americans; every day is a provocation intended to stir up a lethargic country too long asleep at the wheel; every day is an infusion of caffeine into our sleepy descent toward the grave of one-time superpowers.

This election will be stolen. That much is certain. How badly it will be stolen should determine the action we take from here on out. If the Republicans retain a majority in both houses, there should be no uncertainty about the course of action Democrats must pursue. There is no reason for them to turn up to work anyway. This Congress does nothing anyway, and what it does accomplish only harms our future.

Democrats must heed the call of our endangered democracy purchased with the blood of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Should they choose comfort over confrontation they do not deserve to be called American. Should they find walking out of Congress too distasteful (i.e. harmful to their career and reputation), they deserve the same pains of hell reserved for most of the Republicans on Capitol Hill.

American soldiers are dying every day "in the name of democracy." Democrats better be willing to make a statement this November without ceding anything to the Republicans. One thing is clear about this flock of Republicans: they will never compromise. They have a radical and extreme agenda that defecates upon our constitution and our future, and like terrorists there can be no bilateral negotiations.

Keep Hope

Hey, Thanks for commenting. I love hearing from readers. Just keep encouraging your friends to get out there and vote. This is a game. This is a challenge. The democrats may want what's best for this country, but we're not going to get it easy. These republicans will resort to anything to keep power and billions are at stake, so even if we loose this round, we will always know that we stand with justice and righteousness on our side. When these slim from Faux News and the rest of them leave this world, nobody will miss them.
