too little-- way too late  but i think they are now covering their own butts--elections are comming for them too --now any republican can say now that the dems had a chance and they didnt stop the war-

I'd bet good money that this is just an April Fool's joke.

Pelosi doesn't talk like that. She doesn't think like that. There are zero influential Democrats who talk or think like that.

The page is on David Swanson's "Afterdowningstreet" site, not Pelosi's House site. There are at least 3 misspelled words, including "granchildren." (Pelosi's staffers may not be geniuses, but they can probably spell better than that.)

It's a somewhat cruel joke. This of course is how a real patriot would speak -- but Pelosi is nothing of the sort. Given the choice of defending Bush & Cheney, or the US Constitution, she has steadfastly defended the criminals, while betraying her country.

It is wonderful wishful thinking on David's part, or perhaps a simple statement on "what could have been."

And, of course, it will NEVER happen, not on April Fools Day of 2008 or EVER.

Ms. Pelosi has demonstrated a total lack of the most necessary skills for the position that was bestowed on her: leadership, vision, moral clarity, and the strength of convictions.  Instead, she has shown ineptitude, myopia, craven political gamesmenship, and a total lack of ANY convictions, other than to the corporate masters she serves.

Disgusting.

Pelosi Read the Memo

Pelosi read the memo from Cheney (aka "satan")

The memo said:

"Look, we murdered 3,000 American citizens on 9/11.

We murdered them in broad daylight.

We murdered them on national TV, fer christ sakes!

We got away with it. 

We lied to start a war which resulted in the deaths of over 4,000 more American citizens.

Everyone KNOWS we lied.

We got away with that too.

As a result, our friends in the defense industries are making money hand over fist. 

Don't even think you can mess with us... we can take you out at a moment's notice... AND get away with that too."

Pelosi got the memo, as did the rest of the Democrats in DC. 

Numerous other well-placed and fully-informed potential whistle blowers in government and broadcasting also got the memo... No one is talking.

No one is going to mess w/ Satan ...er, "Cheney."

April Fools.

 See the real statement from Peolsi's site below.  Still, I'm glad you posted it.  It was so nice to read it.  Reading that statement was like putting on a healing balm on a long festering wound.  It's horrific that all we have to rely on for a glimmer of hope is an April Fool's Joke.

The day that Pelosi fails to cave in is the day when monkeys fly out of my butt.

These people have ZERO credibility.

Time for a serious movement for a third party that hasn't been tainted by big money and is susceptible to special interest group pressure.

Nancy Pelosi belongs out front with the rest of the garbage that needs to be picked up.
