Thoughts on Pat Tillman

Pat Tillman was an NFL football player turned soldier when he said he felt the need to give something back to his country. I remember reading that he said, that in his family Military Service was a calling, answered by many but by no one from his generation. So he left several Million dollars on the table and joined. Answering the 9/11 call to serve his country.

I have since read that he apparently had some disillusionment once he got to Iraq. Seems he then went to Afghanistan where he was killed in the line of duty. Then he was killed by Friendly Fire. Now it turns out he may have had three bullets straight to the brain from close range. Obviously somethings not being relayed straight about the death of Pat Tillman.

Let's assume the worst for a moment and say that Pat Tillman was executed mob Style right on the killing fields of Afghanistan. You're tempted to say that it could never have happened because some one would have seen it or heard about it and the crime would have come to light. Well, it seems the coroners saw the body of Pat Tillman and said they suspected just that. But no meaningful investigation into that criminal possibility was ever done. I mean, if Pat Tillman's platoon executed him, surely the Army would have investigated and held those responsible on charges of murder. But it seems that all up and down the Army Command structure that the death of Pat Tillman was dealt with in a special way.

Now that this coroners report has come out or slipped out, though I admit I don't know why it did, we are simply left with the worst conspiracy theories ever. I could understand it if it had turned out that his platoon hated and resented him for his Money, athleticism and over bearing manner and opportunistically eliminated him from their midst, Understand it, but not approve of course, but I can not understand why the Army would refuse to investigate and hold those responsible on charges of murder. It only leaves one with the worst of possible scenarios. The question would be where did the order to kill Pat Tillman come from?

There has already been a General censured in this matter, but still no definitive answers about that day. Who wants to believe a crime and cover up of these gigantic proportions? But that's what you're left with. So how high up the chain of command does it go? All the way to the top? At this point I don't see how it couldn't. All the way to the Commander and Chief or perhaps the joint Chiefs of staff? Can the political will to sanction a cover up like this come from anywhere else? And then there's the always obligatory question, where's Congress on this? Sadly we're learning the answer to that more and more as each day of these Wars go by.

Watergate brought down a President because a Crime was committed, people were arrested and were facing charges. Facing charges, people wanted immunity and would talk for a deal. Many did, and then the fear of criminal prosecution brought Nixon staffers to the congress seeking similar deals. The rest is history. You have to wonder if something similar is fixing to happen over the death of Pat Tillman?

Can it happen? It could with a media that wasn't afraid or worse, simply unwilling to investigate this crime and see where it leads. It could if people were held on murder charges and wanted to talk about where their orders came from. It could if Higher ups fearing Obstruction of Justice charges suddenly started to want deals. It could if Congress then held meaningful hearings, not just a 9/11 like commission to just validate the cover story. Will it happen? Can Pat Tillman, from the grave, bring an end to these corrupt wars and the forces that manipulated them? I wonder how Pat Tillman would feel about that now?

I'm an 81 year old widow, of close to eight years. Still have an active (and social activist) mind. With six offspring,I've spent a good part of my life so far, raising a family, and enjoying the fruits of their own families. Sixteen Grand kids and six Great, with two more due. My favorite quotation is 'Nothing By Chance.' It's from a book by Richard Bach. The signature at the bottom of my e-mail is "Walk in peace, balance and harmony."

Pat Tillman fragged?

Several months ago, and I can't recall if I heard it on an alternate channel or read it on the Internet, was a story that Pat Tillman was fragged. I seemed to have been the only one in Montana who heard this story. I'd get strange looks, even from friends and family. There were a couple of reasons given, that I won't go into, as both are too sad to believe. Night before last on COUNTDOWN, Keith Olberman was about to do a story on the death of Pat Tillman, he said to the effect "You won't believe how he may have died." I told my family "He was fragged.' Sure 'nuff.
