Ron Paul's Demise – Premature and Greatly Exaggerated

Ron Paul is on a roll, and his demise has once again been greatly exaggerated as some in the mainstream media and his rivals keep waiting for his campaign to stall and falter. He has shown remarkable resiliency and has been able to bounce back from any adversity. The establishment may no longer be able to contain the Ron Paul revolution and the winds of change. After a respectable fifth place showing in Iowa, he has practically run the gauntlet on every straw poll since. The corporate- controlled media has neglected to report on this astonishing feat. Not surprisingly, they have for the most part made a concerted effort to ignore his candidacy. Ron Paul has some of the most dedicated and loyal supporters who aren't about to abandon him when the going gets tough. This movement goes well beyond and is much bigger than Ron Paul. It is about taking our government and country back.

America needs hope and is looking for a leader who will restore truth, honor and valor back to this tarnished republic. Ron Paul is the man for the job and his candidacy for president couldn't have come at a more crucial time in our history. The emerging North American Union threatens to destroy the little sovereignty we have left, while illegal immigration, outsourcing of jobs, and trade deals such as NAFTA have left a depleted and almost non-existent middle class. With Ron Paul as president, he would negotiate fair trade deals that wouldn't just benefit the multinational corporations or those with political connections. He would pull the U.S. out of the United Nations and the WTO, as we have already ceded much of our sovereignty to these organizations. He is legendary in his following of the constitution, and while other politicians seek to take away our liberty for security, he wishes to preserve and restore our God-given rights to freedom-something that no government should be able to take away in the first place. In addition, Ron Paul as president will ensure that our troops in Iraq come home almost immediately, and he may be our only prevention of future military action in Iran or elsewhere.


Before the Iowa straw poll, it should be noted that Ron Paul had little in the way of organization in place in that state. In fact, he had opened a campaign office in Iowa just days before the polling began. He also did not bus in voters and spent far less than most of his opponents. In light of all of this, it makes his fifth-place finish that much more amazing, and it can only be looked upon as a victory. It has also been reported that there were problems and possible irregularities with the diebold voting machines. Some have suggested that he may have been robbed of a first or second-place showing. Being the class act that he is, he was encouraged by the results and didn't complain. This humble man welcomed the outcome as the mainstream media called his results respectable, when you know very well they are just waiting for his campaign to crash and burn. They are constantly trying to misrepresent him, and are engaging in guilt by association tactics to no avail. Nevertheless, the Iowa straw poll could be a little foreshadowing of what might await Dr. Paul if he goes in to the primaries as one of the front-runners.


Since Iowa, Ron Paul has finished first in four straw polls and is currently leading an online poll. The straw poll wins were in North Carolina, New Hampshire, Alabama, and Washington State. This is quite an accomplishment from a man whose support is supposedly meager and limited to just the internet. All this has been ignored by the media as they continue to propagandize him as a second tier and fringe candidate, when he has clearly broken that mold and has emerged as a viable option and threat. Over the weekend Ron Paul came in third in the Texas straw poll. He had by far the most supporters at the event, but most were unable to vote as only delegates to the state convention were eligible. He captured close to 17% of the vote. Also a recent online straw poll posed the question, “Who do you want to see as president?” The list included both Democrats and Republican candidates. At the time of this article Ron Paul had received a whooping 7678 votes - 61%. The closest candidate to him was Dennis Kucinich, with 1565 votes – 12%. USA Election Polls is responsible for this poll and they are one of the most recognizable and visited sites of this kind. While the haters claim that online polls are being manipulated by supporters of Ron Paul, keep in mind that most of these are limited to one vote per computer IP address.

In an effort to try and capture Ron Paul's success, some of his fellow Republican presidential candidates are starting to sound more and more like him. In an age where most politicians flip-flop and say anything to get elected, Ron Paul is a model of consistency and what you see is what you get. This isn't some act or game-this is our future that will be decided. His grassroots message is also spreading and Ron Paul meet-up groups are now spawning across parts of Canada, as not only Americans realize things will be better off with him as president. It will be a long and grueling campaign, but things are just getting warmed up and his momentum shows no sign of peaking before the primaries roll around. By that time, the Ron Paul machine will be in place, and those who were skeptical will be surprised. Ron Paul more than anyone understands what is at stake, and like his supporters he is committed to the very end.


Ron Paul's campaign has come a long way, but that is not to say that we should be satisfied with what has already transpired. Maybe along the way our expectations have been exceeded, but there is nothing to celebrate yet and no time to be complacent. He has struck a chord with the people who have heard his message of hope and liberty. Our goal is to get his name and his message to the rest of the freedom-hungry masses. We all at sometime in our life can identify with the underdog role that has been cast upon him and just imagine how sweet it will be when we do achieve our goals. To quote a great patriot Aaron Russo, who passed away recently, “NOW IS THE TIME to join with me and support Ron Paul. I've seen you at work. You can do this. WE can do this!” He may no longer be with us, but his spirit, passion and dreams live on. We will finish what others like him have started. By getting Ron Paul elected president, it will go a long way in restoring the United States as a beacon of hope, liberty, and freedom.

The Menace that is the CFR

The Council on Foreign Relations is a sinister organization that would destroy U.S. sovereignty and replace it with a one world government.  It has, thus far, been successful.  Most U.S. presidents and a significant number of Democrat and Republican candidates are members of this duplicitous organization: Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John Edwards (to name a few) as well as major mainstream media personnel.   Through their CFR membership they have power and priviledge that are reserved to an elite group, and it is both sinister and formidable.  It is important that this information reach the voting public; because, if a CFR member is elected president, then there will be more of the same: the borders will remain open (so that the labor pool will be destabilized), the dollar will continue to plummet, and the U.S. involvement in the MidEast will continue unchecked.

Ron Paul is not a member of this organization and vigorously opposes its elitist, destructive worldview.  He must prevail if our Republic is to be restored to its former prosperity, sovereignty and peace.  This used to be a swell country until the CFR began meddling; it may yet be again.

Ron Paul is an honest and honorable fellow. His politics is absolutely dead wrong and the exact opposite of what this nation needs. He would abandon welfare, privatise about everything ( have we not seen how godawful this is?) eliminate social security or place it in the hands of private insurers who would certainly take huge chunks of our savings in profit. Ron Paul is an intelligent version of Ronald Reagan and George Walker Bush in far too many respects. He is , of course, more honest than George and more in control of his politics than Ronnie, nevertheless Libertarianism is anathema to anyone who believes that the function of government is to assist the have nots, educate our children, etc..

The most powerful nation on earth cannot , by any sane rationale,  leave the international dialogue by walking out of the UN. We should be much more active within it than we are now. I strongly urge you folks who believe in this political creed to reread the preamble to the constitution and give it some serious thought.

Ardee - I respectfully disagree with you.  We have been corrupted by politicians who care about their own wealth and their own hides.  True statesmen, like Dr. Paul, are few and far between.  I think he is EXACTLY what this nation needs.  The growth of government would surely be the demise of this once great country.  Contrary to what you are saying, we have "privitised" nothing.  To the contrary, government has been slowly insinuating itself into the very fabric of our personal lives.   This is not what this country was based upon.

Ron Paul, unlike George Bush and even Ronald Reagan, walks the walk.  He is honest and knows exactly what we need to make this country great again - in the eyes of Americans and in the eyes of the rest of the world.  Under George Bush, we have lost our credibility.  The function of government as our Founding Fathers correctly construed is that government's sole purpose is to protect the rights of the individual - definitely NOT to "assist the have nots".   That may be your definition of a perfect world, but it certainly is not the foundation of the United States.  You may think that Libertarians are cruel, heartless people who care nothing for others.  On the contrary, how noble or compassionate is it to leave it up to government agencies to "care for the have nots" - to steal what is not theirs in order to give to someone else - taking their cut of whatever spoils they receive and leave a pittance to those who they say they are trying to "help."  If government got back to its true function - protecting the rights of the individuals, we would get back to the earlier days of our country and take care of our own.  Americans are some of the most generous people in the world.  I have great faith in the individual.  Churches and private organizations in the past took care of the "have nots" of this country.  Government has usurped their traditional role.

You acknowledge say Dr. Paul is an honest man, yet it seems like you scorn him for his honesty and his patriotism.

International dialog?  Dr. Paul is correct that we would be best served to leave that hotbed of crooks.  Does Oil for Food ring a bell?  What about the money that is extorted from various nations, supposedly to help the poor nations in need.  Do you really think that this support actually gets to the poor people?  No, Ardee, it goes to fatten the coffers of these corrupt regimes who are part of this United Nations conspiracy. 

I get the impression (and forgive me if I'm wrong) that you are not in the United States.  Freedom may not fit in your perfect world, but it suits me just fine.  The US has become an empire under the current crop of politicians.  We all know what becomes of empires.

Please Reread the Preamble to, and the Constitution:

The Preamble states, "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

The preamble merely introduces the Constitution and its purpose:  It neither grants any governmental powers nor inhibits any of its actions, but serves to explain the reason behind the U.S. Constitution.   

Nowhere does it state that we should trade or barter away those hard-won rights to a corrupt U.N..  As one of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council, it is hard to imagine that we could be any more involved than we already are.  What we SHOULD be doing is creating a separate world organization where its members are democratic in nature, and could be a powerful agency in assisting new member countries who wish to reach such a state:  We absolutely should NOT be pandering to Communist countries such as China (who we also owe billions to, another travesty). 

And it most definitely does NOT state that the role of government is to "assist the have nots, educate our children, etc."  Note the careful wording:  " provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare".  It does not say "PROVIDE the general Welfare":  Welfare, as it exists today, did definitely NOT exist in such a manner in the early days of settlement.  One's "welfare" was one's well-being, and all such looking after the welfare of others was done by one's neighbor:  Certainly not the government.  It was to escape an overabundance of governmental control that we fought the Revolutionary War, and the Articles of the Constitution clearly laid out the rights of The People:  NOT "The Government".   

Ron Paul is probably THE most knowledgeable person in Congress about the U.S. Constitution, having read it several times and referring to it on a daily basis.  Our President surely doesn't know it, and I daresay most people have never bothered to give it much more than an initial glance.  Sadly, that is the main reason why both of the major political parties have gone so far astray.

Kucinich not Paul

Ron Paul is dishonest and untrustworthy. There are several false statements on his website. He also is making no effort to impeach Cheney and Bush and has not declared support for an independent investigation of 911.  Ron Paul opposes a separation of church and state. Paul also wants to eliminate the minimum wage, supports deregulation of business, and wants nearly everything privatized. He also wants to overturn Roe vs Wade and redefine life as beginning at conception which would make abortion an act of murder. Ron Paul also supports keeping America dependent on Big Oil. His website also states that he wants all undocumented immigrants deported.

Kucinich is the only candidate who is honest and has integrity.

But even saying OK, you support Paul but liberals don't, does no good. As strong as their fixation is on preserving the 2nd amendment, is their desire to hijack even venues that don't appreciate their politics.

This garners no support, it just makes people think you're nuts Paulistas, and it diminishes the status and credibility of your hero.

Now, that is a great article! Thank you so much. It is so refreshing to see a bit of truth. First I find it in a place I never would have expected, politics, and second, in media. Of course, I suppost this is not quite mainstream media, so I shouldn't get my hopes up too high. But we all need to call the papers every day and complain.

You have three months. Do everything you can! Don't look back and say, if only I had worked a little harder... This is it folks. The only chance you will get. Think they will ever let the Internet be this free again? If Ron Paul loses you will only lose more of your freedom, money and liberty for the rest of your life.

Give him everything you can. Now. Don't hold back. The money won't be worth half as much next year anyway. Talk to everyone you can. Put fliers whereever you can. Stay busy. It is only for 3 months. After the primaries, if he loses, nothing matters. Make sure you are registered properly to vote for him. In AZ, they lie to you and tell you you can vote for him if you are an independent, it is false. To vote for him in the presidential primary you MUST be a Republican. I am not wrong. If you are not registered they will turn you away. This is because they don't call the Presidential Primary a primary. They call it a Presidential Preference Election so they will purposely confuse you. Oh yes, they do have primaries in AZ too, but they are for other offices, mayor, comptroller, etc. In those primaries you can vote if you are independent. But to vote for Ron Paul in the primary, you must be a Republican. Don't argue. Just do it.

And for heaven's sake folks, get out and vote in the primaries!!!!!!!! Nothing else matters. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

i don't believe he could single handedly end social security or overturn roe v wade, and i believe he is entitled to his feelings on those subjects even though i would disagree

i do believe that he would be responsive to the will of the people and not as liar and manipulator

 

i agree with him about fed reserve and irs completely and believe in a return to actual money based on precious metals and not just paper promises
