Now that the Democrats have won control of the House of Representatives, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that Nancy Pelosi, currently House Minority leader, will become Speaker. She has already announced that "impeachment is not on the table", and listed her priorities for the "first 100 hours", which carefully avoid any confrontation with the Bush administration.

Clearly, Pelosi, representing the Democratic National Committee (DNC), has made a deal with the criminals on Pennsylvania Ave., and intends to keep tight control of the new Democratic House majority. If she succeeds, Bush and Cheney will not be held accountable for their high crimes and misdemeanors.

The Constitution says:
Article I, Section 2

Clause 5: The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

The Speaker of the House is chosen by the incoming Congress, not by the current corrupt craven bunch and their controllers in the DNC. Traditionally, the Representative of the majority party who has the most seniority would become Speaker. This is not Nancy Pelosi, but rather John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), who has been itching to impeach Bush and Cheney for years. He is the author of HR 635, which mandates an investigation into impeachable offenses on both their parts, and has done all he can to encourage a people's movement for impeachment.

Yesterday, we the people turned out in massive numbers, unheard of for a midterm election, to express our disgust with the corruption of the Republican regime. This corruption begins at the White House. For years, Jack Abramoff was shuttling back and forth between the executive and legislative branch, making deals, bribing, coercing, luring public officials to Las Vegas hideaways where incriminating photos were taken, etc. Jack is taking the fall; will his masters in the White House go unscathed?

We the people have sovereignty in this great nation. It is our Constitution. It was written by revolutionaries who broke free from King George III, and wanted no more of kings. The current George is clearly seeking kingly powers; in fact the outgoing Congress has given him more power than even the royalty of England, who at least have to abide by habeas corpus.

We want our country back. The House under Pelosi's leadership will not give it to us. Under John Conyers' leadership, we have a fair chance of impeaching Bush and Cheney, who are doing their best to destroy our democracy, and of starting to repair the damage.

What could better restore our position as an honorable nation among nations than to impeach those who have stained our honor and wrecked our reputation? And as a bonus, the Speaker will become president after Bush and Cheney are ousted. John Conyers, Jr. great friend of Martin Luther King, Jr., outspoken critic of Bush crimes, would make a fine president.

Psalm 27: 13-14
I believe that I shall see the bounty of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.
