Global warming is accelerating. The poisoning of the ocean and of the earth's fresh water is accelerating. The disappearance of species is accelerating. The spread of radioactive material is accelerating, as the warmakers continue to use "depleted" uranium.
We cannot afford two more years of the Bush regime. A Democratic Congress has no intention of impeaching them- Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi have made that clear. There are plenty of incumbent Democratic Congresspeople like them. A Democratic majority will perhaps slow down the greed machine- Carlyle and Halliburton- that is gobbling up the planet, but a Democratic Congress will not stop it and reverse course quickly, which is what we desperately need.
We need an IMPEACHING Congress. The Longhouse Coalition is made up of candidates for Congress who have made impeachment the number 1 item in our platform. If our members are elected, we will make sure that Bush and Cheney are impeached and removed from office. Along with Bush and Cheney will go the drive for war and ecological disaster, to be replaced by peace, and cooperation with other nations to slow global warming, pollution of all sorts, and all the other disasters that face us.
We are not a political party. The incumbents, progressive Democrats and Republicans are welcome to join us. Go to our website- www.longhousecoalition.org to find out who our candidates are (47 right now), see our platform, learn more about us.
Lk 12:54-56 Jesus said to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain–and so it does; and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot–and so it is. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time? http://www.usccb.org/nab/102706.shtml
We have no more time for business as usual. The centrist Democrats well know what time it is, but choose to ignore reality and play ball with the Bush beast. Vote in The Longhouse Coalition candidates- this is our God-given opportunity to save ourselves and the planet.
Peace, love and light,

Yes, you are so right: "a Democratic Congress will not stop it and reverse course quickly, which is what we desperately need." Lesser-evil voting is likely to give the Dems victory, but will it be a very delusional victory? I fear so. Lesser-evil voting is always a short-term tactic, not a winning longer term strategy.

Carol speaks from the heart and with COMMONSENSE, a virtue missing in action from this Administration and cowardly Congressional reps!
It is a spiritual battle we all fight-and it can only be fought in the political realm.
"Soon after I had published the pamphlet "Common Sense" [on Feb. 14, 1776] in America, I saw the exceeding probability that a revolution in the system of government would be followed by a revolution in the system of religion... The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."-Tom Paine
On with the revolution of peace, love and light!
"We have it in our power to begin the world again"-Tom Paine
"When we all DO SOMETHING it will begin".-eileen fleming
PS-i am hoping to be a candidate for House of Rep. District 5 in Florida in 2008,
but HELP is hard to come by in the Bible Belt.
