From Blinded Sheep to One Eye Open at All Times

Who I am is not important. I am simply one of the many former middle class Americans who has been forced, due to economics, to take a long hard look at where this country is going, and where I want to be next year, and the year after that. It is clear that things in this country are changing, and we need to prepare for the future.

My journey down the rabbit hole began with the following thought: "What if nothing is as it seems, and everything I have been told is a lie." This thought kept rolling around in my head until I was compelled to act. I started dissecting every scrap of information I heard on the news, and went to the Internet to do my research. What I found was that I had indeed been lied to, and was going to continue to be lied to by the mainstream media because it is bought and paid for by large multi-national corporations who do not want us to know the truth behind genetically modified terminator seeds, or anything else of importance. We are mere consumers. The heads of these multi-national corporations, whose only goal is to make money, are bleeding Americans dry. We the people are expendable. Until we realize that, we will continue to act as if nothing is wrong until we get flushed down the toilet.

Our country is being sold piece by piece to the highest bidder by a few powerful elites who have turned our economic system into an all-out grab for money and power, man the torpedoes, full steam ahead! A declaration of war on the American people has been declared, and we are in for the fight of our lives.  At this point, some of us are having a difficult time making ends meet. Maybe we are cutting down on our fuel consumption, or making other sacrifices to save money in order to hang on to what we have. We 'aint seen nothin' yet. Hanging on is going to get harder. To combat the forces of evil and take back our country, it is time to make a change, one person at a time.

I invite you to follow me down the path to take back my independence and break away from the corporate teat. It might not always be pretty, but I can assure you, it will not be dull; and just maybe, we can learn from each other.

                                        Horse Sense

Thinking about how you can eliminate various expensive and unnecessary chemicals from your environment? A copper sink just might fit the bill. I have found them on eBay starting at $139. Since copper is a natural anti-bacterial surface, it is not necessary to disinfect or scrub your copper.

Barbara H. Peterson is retired from the California Department of Corrections, where she worked as a Correctional Officer at Folsom Prison. She was one of the first females to work at the facility in this classification. After retirement, she went to college online to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business, and graduated with honors. The most valuable thing she received from her time with UOP was a realization that her life's passion is writing. Now her business degree sits in her desk drawer, and she counts herself in the category of Writer/Activist. Someday she will make money writing, but that is not why she does it. "I do it because I must. A driving force compels me to reach out to others with what I learn about the condition we the people are in, and that is what I devote my time to. After all, time is the most precious thing we have, and the older I get the more I want to use it wisely." Barbara lives on a small ranch in Oregon with her husband, where they raise geese, chickens, Navajo Churro sheep, Oggie Dog, a variety of cats, and an opinionated Macaw named Rita. She believes that self-sufficiency and localization of food sources will be necessary to survive the coming depression. To this end, she has put up a website to share information at: http://survivingthemiddleclasscrash.wordpress.com. Her philosophy is this: You are on this earth for a reason - to fight for the light. Your words are swords that penetrate the darkness with truth and light. You have a purpose.

The copper sink could be your downfall

Please take this in the light, but earnest, vein that I send it. You know copper is bringing a good price. In our neighborhood new construction loses its fittings if not guarded. Dopers are suspect, but criminals of other stripes may get billing as more people drive on fumes in their tanks. So take a picture of your great buy, lock it in your safety box if you can still afford the rental, and if you can afford householders insurance to make a claim. And now a bigger IF is whether you could even get the law to look at the case since you paid such a depressed price.

Get the drift? Once we time-seasoned consumer types, make comments on the foolishness of excess consumerism and evoke the names of Veblen, Packard and hippies, we have to explain history during other boom and bust cycles. What messed up my puritanical DNA came during the 60s. When the counter culture talked about living off the land, I had visions of early 20th Century sensibilities until I realized that what they expected to plant was cannibis.

I remember the 60s

I remember the 60s very well. We had some good ideas, but these were overshadowed by the drugs and free love issues. One thing I picked up during that time was a love of organic foods.

Since I live in the country, a copper sink isn't a bad idea for me. For those who live in the city, I can understand that it may be a problem. What works for one might not work for another.

As we head towards harder times the temptation for some to loot and pillage becomes greater. Hunger is a driving force. So if a copper sink is something that will be more of a liability, I would not recommend it.

New ideas

are always so good to see.  Having a copper sink sounds  really cool, just how do I know that a meth induced home robbery spree might include my sink? Copper surely is a beautiful metal.  It is in my water I am told.  Black sediment on water closet.  Not cool.

Copper

If home robbery is a problem, nix the copper! I would also have my water tested to make sure you do not have an excess of it if you are drinking it. Here is some information:

Copper is an essential trace nutrient to all high plants and animals. In animals, including humans, it is found primarily in the bloodstream, as a co-factor in various enzymes, and in copper-based pigments. However, in sufficient amounts, copper can be poisonous and even fatal to organisms.

Here is a site with information about Copper toxicity:

More ways to save

Put in an outdoor clothesline so you can avoid using your drier.

Put a garden in and be sure to plant that garden with Heirloom seeds. When you harvest, save some of those seeds for the next year. Then can, can, and can some more! If you can your own fruit, vegetables, and in some cases meat; you will save a bundle. You will also have the peace of mind that comes from knowing you will always be able feed your family.

Excellent suggestions

These are excellent suggestions. Not only is growing and canning your own food healthier, but it also saves money. Clothes lines in summer are great. In winter you can hang them around the wood stove if you have one. I have been heating with wood since 1988. Not only can you heat your house, but cook on your wood stove and save electricity.

Right On

You're eyes have been opened Barbara. Keep going down that path in your quest for the truth. More and more Americans, (especially the younger generation are waking up to the lies the power elite have been feeding us). The Ron Paul Revolution is more about getting back America , and getting the truth out, and ending the lies our MSM and politicians have been feeding us.  This Revolution is about getting to the truth and giving people back their God given rights as spelled out in the Constitution. I'm 65 years old and voted the Democratic ticket my whole life; but now I've seen through the matrix. Both parties are owned by the Central-Bankers, who own the main-stream media, and control the militery industrial complex. They want a One World Government, so they can control everything. They can and will be stopped, but we are going to have to fight this evil at every turn.  Google: "America Freedom to Facism" a great video by the Late Aaron Russo, go to Alex Jones's website infowars.com, go to matrixeconomy.com,(they explain in a presentation download what is going on economically. Turn off the main stream news networks and newspapers. Search the internet ad libraries for the truth. We must continue to expose this evil and take back America. You go Barbara. Your on the right path and your not alone by any means.

You're right!

You wrote:

You have probably seen...

Two Intellectual Systems by Hubbert... and I bet you like Carolyn Baker's stuff... especially the "Survival Acres" link.  You will probably have to hide that food wherever you hide your copper sink.  Post-Soviet Lessons... thanks Peterson!  Keep us (economic drop-outs) posted!

You're right, I subscribe to Carolyn Baker's e-mail list. I will check out the other links also - thank you! I like your "economic dropouts" reference. It is totally appropriate. Mind if I use it?

This article is the first posting of a column I am doing for The Proud Political Junkie's Gazette by Marti Oakley. Rob asked me to cross-post it, so I will post the segments here as I post to the Gazette.

It is amazing the wonderful people I have met. I am already learning a lot from people who respond to the article. I believe this is the way to go. We all share our experiences and learn from each other.

More about Matrixeconomy.com

Dear Barbara and all, Just a further note about matrixeconomy.com: The two guys who run this site are not giving financial advice and do not charge for the two audio downloads available there. I believe you must register and setup a username before using the download. They are giving free information as to what is going on with the ecobomies worldwide.  The presentations (there are 2, Jul 07 and 28 Jul) the latter is very chilling. They are over an hour long and at first seem difficult to follow, be patient, for what follows midway through makes it all well worth your time. (especially the 28 Jul download). I promise everyone you will not be disappointed! Here are a few of the quotes are remember from the download: "Get in touch with your family-Get right with your Creator". "What is coming our way is impossible to prevent; the biggest financial crime in history".  "You wont be alone and make it; Life is going to change drastically".  I've listened to these guy's many times and learn more each time. I've e-mailed them and asked them to keep going with their site. They said plans are in the works. I urge everyone to visit this site, you'll be amazed. Thanks, ron heringhauser
