I'm caught in a catch 22
And I don't know what to do;
It's no good to shout;
There's no way out.

If I move to the left to secure my base,
Then with the independent I lose grace;
If I move to the right to win the independent,
Then I lose the base on which I am dependent.

Either I break my pledge
Or I fall off the edge;
Alas, tell me what I can do;
I'm caught in a catch 22.
