Power attracts money in politics

This nation has been derailed, frankly, from the intent of the Founding Fathers by an avaricious desire of the few and the powerful to loot every
single shred of profit at the expense of us all.

Iraq is simply a profit center for the Vice President's former company and a vision of a new American imperialism that comes at a cost far too large to bear. The fear and anger generated solely to fan the flames of unreasoned nationalism in order to keep everyone from to close an inspection of the
deeds being done seems to be working all to well.

The propaganda mill, which takes its marching orders from Rove, 'miraculously' speaks to the exact same talking points all at the same time, works on the
principal that repeated lies become truth all too quickly. Many , all too many, are duped into believing that acquiescence to this administrations
incompetence and avarice is the patriotic thing to do.

While far too many on the left believe the solution lies in restoring the power of the Democratic Party in the halls of Congress and , perhaps, even
in the Oval Office, I strongly disagree.

Certainly a democratic majority in the House and Senate after this coming election might facilitate investigations that would surely blow the lid off
the corruption so rampant under the Republican control of all our branches of governance, it might even result in an impeachment proceeding that I
would find personally very satisfying. But it would surely be only a temporary victory and would soon be replaced by the same sort of dishonesty one always finds in the ruling party.

When dealing with a system as corrupt and dishonest as ours, when the money flows all to easily to those who rule, when there is really no way to
counter the influence of corporate donations to money hungry war chests, when Senate races cost 50 million and Presidential races over 100 million
the losers are the citizens of these United States, every single time.

My name it means nothing, my age it means less. My deeds of activism are mine to enjoy and share as I feel necesary, not as some clown in a small forum's administration thinks I must..This place gets worse each and every visit.

corporate money corupts

Corporations should not be allowed to donate to campaigns or 527's. They should not donate to the parties or any referendums. They should be entities only on paper and taxed on their profits. They are not living entities they have no soul or conscience. They are entities that do do business and need to pay for permits, damages, and property tax. They have no place supporting policy or candidates.

Employees of corporations have their rights to express their views as they see fit. It is "We the People" that should have ultimate controll over our represenatives. It is not the Corporate interrest, interrests of other nations, or the interrests of illegal aliens that should sway our elected officials. It is the Citizens.

are you still here?

One can only speculate why somebody that hates his country as much as you do would continue to live here. The great thing about this country guy, is that you are free to leave.

Why don't you. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor, go live somewhere where you do not have the freedom to spout out your ignorant rants without getting your tongue cut out.

You make me sick with your stupidity and your liberal self rightous crap. Thank God that all you can do is rant and not do any real harm.

all who think differnt are children eh?

While the Original commenterx statement was quite basic, it does show a point. If you been around so long and a lifer leftist who is also a Vietnam Vet (somehow I think you are shifty on the details of this one); just what did you do in this life. You little bio says you worked and ran a company but what did you do?

I see no implemented legislature, I see no accomplishments that changed society. Just a bunch of I oppose the establishment. And you get annoyed when people oppose your view.

/Seriously you really are intellectual liberal i.e. knowing all that is wrong with the US, but living, working and partaking of its benefits without actually doing a damn thing you rant about.

Chuildish is as childish does

You two (if indeed there really are two of you) display the same unwillingness to discuss points raised, merely attempting, and quite sophomoric attempts they are, to insult and disparage the articles and authors in question. You neither contribute nor display any knowledge of the facts only silly insult and innuendo, thus the references to childishness.

Dont you both have homework?

By the way, havent you noticed how quickly folks here start to ignore your silliness? I believe that, despite my disgust with the complete lack of knowledge on any political topic you display, and my further disgust at your silly tactics as well, that I will do as the others here do and just block you out. You should run along back to freerepublic where such anti-intellectualism is encouraged. You are nothing but sheep.

No Subject Entered

Sorry I was here to point out that you can do nothing but insult. And from what I see , you can't even determine the quantity of your opposition. It's is truly no wonder why your type always wonder how they lost. They never see scope nor understand the math.

As to your original post, you obviously don't understand market forces either. In a real time environment with a cycle time of 15 minutes, convergence will occur in less than an hour for the media. The joke is you and your ilk (kos, Air Am,etc) do EXACTLY the same thing and yet don't see it as a conspiracy.

/But what should I expect from someone who has never made a change in the world.

One down one to go

As my last response to your blind political philosophy I note that you have not once, either here or on the other forums you have visited until ignored, posted to the gist of an article or idea. You, like your idiot son snginga, can only besmirch and attempt to diminish. What you fail to understand is that, by disclosing the lack of worth of our opposition you strengthen our resolve.

You support the torture of helpless prisoners who are only suspected of links to terrorists. Over seventy percent of those people were not captured on battlefields.

You support a President who has appointed fund raisers to important government office, and, as shown plainly during the Hurrican Katrina fiasco are responsible for the deaths of thousands with their incompetence, one remaining still in office! You support a Secretary of Defense who sent our children into battle with less strength than was needed and with far less equipment , equipment that would have saved lives, than was needed as well.

You support an administration that has isolated us and made us pariahs in the world, squandering all the sympathy garnered after 9/11. I remind you that there were demonstrations in support of us on the streets of Teheran after 9/11...not any more!

You support an administration that seeks to end the separation of powers between the branches of government, something that would be anathema ot our founders, and should be to all decent American citizens, but not to you.....

You support an administration that is attempting to destroy our system of education and our economy, one that gives tax breaks to the wealthiest one percent but shafts the rest of us. There are now many more at or below the poverty line here in America than before that silly frat boy stole two elections, google the facts if you dare.

You will no longer be answered by me, I have absolutely no respect for someone like you who gives blind allegiance to greedy and selfish men, who give support to torture and murder, who use the Constitution of these United States as so much toilet paper. You fool noone with your platitudes and your pretense at political discourse. You march blindly behind men who care nothing for you and yours and you refuse to think, to research or to even debate on the issues. You are useless to this forum and to this nation.
