Obama – Democrats Forget the George McGovern Legacy

What's the purpose of the Superdelegates?  To prevent another McGovern from winning the Democratic nomination.

Obama is George McGovern incarnate.  Is History destined to repeat itself?

How many times have you heard, Democrats and Republicans, “I held my nose and voted.”  Which way do nose holders vote?  The old adage of “when in doubt be conservative” comes to mine.

Will moderates and independents vote for the most liberal Senator in the Senate?

Will moderates and independents vote for a guy whose only claim to fame is that he says he would have voted against the war?

Will moderates and independents vote for a guy who has voted with his feet for 20 years for black racism?

Will moderates and independents, who are scared silly about where this country is headed, vote for someone who voted “present” instead of standing up and taking a position – any position?

Will moderates and independents vote for a guy who admits that his staff doesn't let him touch paperwork?

Will moderates and independents vote for a fellow who instead of admitting his ignorance of diplomacy stands pat on his assertion that he'll meet with any foreign yahoo with a grievance against the United States?  Especially when there is evidence on the table that suggests he agrees with them?

Will moderates and independents vote for someone who doesn't understand that insurance only works when everybody shares the risks – even those 25-year-old healthy people who would rather bet that they won't get sick than pay their fair share.

McCain is McSame.  The problem is that in times of uncertainty, people don't select for more uncertainty.  They become risk adverse.  They don't vote for unknown's who skip around shouting change.

After the McGovern debacle, the Democratic leadership smartly created Superdelegates.  Will the Superdelegates rise to the occasion or will they abdicate their responsibility?

McCain can be beaten.  But it will take another warhorse like Hillary Clinton to beat him.

When the messiness of the Democratic nomination process is an afterthought, Clinton will be able to draw the comparisons between her and McCain.  And when people have a choice between two devils that they know, the nose holders will rally behind her.

Go ahead and vote for Obama if you want to lose the general election to the Republicans.

Vote for Clinton if you want a real chance at change.

Politics is my passion! I have a daughter in the final stages of M.S., because of this I use politics and the world around me as a source of particular interest- gets your mind off some pretty tough suffering. Although I wish I had not seen what this current Administation has done to our Country, our World.

"Obama-Democrats Forget the George McGovern Legacy"

Hillary has the strength and experience to make a terrific President and has been vetted, and would beat McCain in Nov.

Obama now has Minister Wright's baggage, plus Rezko. The trial is underway and and it really doen't look good for Rezko. The Governor is already is being implicated and what if Rezko decides to plea bargain for a reduced sentence, stating what he might know about Obama. I mean most people are not Scooter Libby and will fall on the sword, then again maybe he will be acquitted, but then maybe not.
