BILLARY PLAYS ASSASSINATION CARD

The Clinton's have stooped to a new low in 2008 by not only playing the race card but now reaching deep into their shameful deck for the assassination card ~ thus ensuring their place in history as America's most politically arrogant, unprincipled and self serving couple: Allen L Roland
Make no mistake about it, Hillary Clinton's calculated remarks about RFK's assassination were really in the context of the establishment versus the people and that the people's obvious candidate Barack Obama ( like RFK ) will not stand in the way of the establishment ~ which includes the Clintons themselves.
This is why Hillary told Bill Richardson that " Obama can't win " because not only is he black but he is not part of the establishment that rules Washington ~ which  includes the Clintons.
The establishment does not trust the people and a people's candidate, like RFK and Obama, are a distinct threat to the status quo ~ which, once again, includes the Clintons.
Read this outstanding post from Eljefebob's page in the Houston Chronicle which captures the shock of Americans over this latest Clinton outrage along with Keith Olbermann's demand that Hillary remove herself from  this primary race.

Excerpt: Last night I had a strange conversation with my wife.  Like many people, we were talking about why Hillary was staying in the race for the Democratic nomination.  As all of North America knows, it's mathematically impossible for her to overtake Obama in pledged delegates.  The only way she can win is to get the rules changed to somehow seat Florida and Michigan as they are, then somehow convince the super delegates she should be the nominee.  That's virtually impossible.  So why does she stay in?  What does she want?  We speculated about her motives.

I blurted out what I had been thinking recently, but been afraid to articulate.  Maybe she is staying in, I surmised, just in case something happens to Obama and she can step into the nomination.  My wife was shocked and told me not to say that.  I agreed that I shouldn't have and decided that, even though I had considered it,  I would not post that idea to my blog.  It was too negative.  And scary.  It was unthinkable.

Then, today, unbelievably, Hillary said itShe actually said it. As well documented by Desperado, Hillary, in an editorial board interview, said almost word for word what I had guessed were her motives the night before.  She actually compared this race to 1968 saying that the reason she was staying in was that in June of that year RFK was assassinated after winning the California primary.  What???  Could she really have meant it?  Is she that cold and calculating that she is actually staying in the this race long after she has lost it just in case some nut case does the unspeakable?  Or was she just being horribly reckless in her rhetoric?  Holy moly.  I can't believe I'm even writing about this.  But she actually raised the spectre of assassination.  In a political context in a race with an African-American candidate who has received numerous death threats and is closely guarded by the Secret Service.

When she said it, I couldn't believe it.  I was shocked.  Then I got mad.  Really mad.  Who the hell does this woman think she is?  Is winning so important so as to even raise the possibility of assassination?  Especially in the same week that RFK's little brother, the last surviving Kennedy brother, Ted, was diagnosed with a brain tumor that will likely be fatal?  What???  I'm still mad.  Then tonight, Keith Olbermann made a special comment about Hillary's statement.  Here it is in its entirety, in two parts.  It's speaks perfectly to how I feel about this grossly irresponsible and destructive statement by Hillary:  Click  on for part one and two ~

Hillary needs to quit before she looks even more foolish!

I'm one of those feminists whom Rush Limbaugh would happily call a "Feminazi". I attended university in the seventies, graduating with a minor in "Women's Studies" even though I had more units in Women's Studies than I carried for my major! I took some of the first Women's Studies classes offered in a larger university, classes which grew directly from the grass roots feminist movement, and it was truly a fantastic time for me to get such an education. It was just after the hippie movement peaked and the Viet Nam war had ended, when the feminist movement had finally found a cohesive voice.

It was great to get to know all those women, and learn about ideas that had previously been withheld from us, the 'fairer sex'. And we all hoped one day soon, there would be a woman as president.

That was over thirty years ago, and finally, this year, a viable woman candidate appeared. Or so it seemed. You would think that me and all my friends from college would be dancing in public, cheering for the fact that a woman was in a good position to be our next president.

But that was hardly the case.

I wouldn't vote for Hillary under any circumstances. Her complete and utter lack of caring about what the people of the United States want is just the tip of the iceberg. All I ever hear from her is Hillary, Hillary, Hillary, and nothing else! It’s all about how victimized she is, or else she’s contstantly apologizing for making the most offensive of remarks, from the possible assassination of Obama to lying about being under fire when nothing of the sort ever happened. It is now to the point that she has no time to discuss campaign issues because she’s too busy apologizing for her many stupid remarks, lies and for playing ‘cards’ that should never be part of any presidential campaign.

The time has passed for her to be truthful! No one is going to believe her now.

Her every comment revolves around how she can acquire the presidency and nothing is ever heard about what she would do with it! There are threats to blow up Iran, despite the fact that such an act would murder millions of innocent victims. This is Hillary's attempt to suck up to Israel rather than represent what the American public wants in the Middle East: PEACE! She has also chosen to also suck up to the healthcare industry, taking millions and millions from them and abandoning any real chance at true healthcare for all Americans that doesn't involve the very same profitmongers who are who helped to finance her failing campaign. She’s proven she is will represent those who have paid her bills and not carry out the will of the people.

Now we hear her play so many 'cards' that we have gone from perceiving her as anywhere from egotistic to aggravating to pathetic to desperate, none of which are values we want of our president. We've heard her play the race card against Obama. She's claimed her stint as First Lady and brief time as a junior senator makes her more qualified as president than Obama, somehow believing that being the wife of someone somehow endows her with the same experiences. Since when? I guarantee you that if I need to get my appendix out, the very LAST person I am going to seek to do the job is the wife of my surgeon! I guarantee Hillary that no true professional woman wants to project her experience as being a parasite who has attached herself to a husband’s success and playing it off as her own. She never played any pivotal roles while Bill was president and they both know it!

And out of that she cried "sexism"? She must be kidding someone. She wants us to believe she has experience to be president that Obama doesn’t have because she was First Lady—a claim of such absurdity that it offends feminists everywhere, and when it backfires, SHE claims it’s sexist? This is a woman with some truly twisted beliefs. She has had every equal opportunity to acquire the Democratic nomination for presidency, and at every turn, she has done everything possible to screw it up all by herself. When her husband and her aides have made inappropriate comments or behaved wrong during the campaign, it still falls on Hillary. If she can't control her staff and her husband during a campaign, then what business does she have claiming she's able to run a country? I guarantee her, it's a lot more difficult than what she's currently got on her plate and she clearly not able to manage that much!

And now she's claimed, not once, but twice, that she needs to stay in the race because Obama could be assassinated. That shows most clearly to me that that is exactly what she wants to see happen, because when she first made the comment in March of this year, she didn't have the tragedy of Ted Kennedy's brain tumor to give her an excuse for putting her foot in her mouth. But for her to make such a blatantly sick comment AGAIN? It’s clear she wishes desperately for it to happen, because she’s pissed away getting the nomination legitimately at every turn.

Every candidate runs the risk of assassination. And since it’s clear that she wants to stick in a race she has already lost and run her campaign on the idea that the candidate who bested her will be killed, so she can run in and take over…well, that is beyond all measure of decency. It’s worse than her lies about being under fire, and worse than the threats she made that would kill millions of innocents, it’s worsen than her being bought out by the very corporate interests she once fought against. Hillary Clinton has made it clear that since she’s obviously lost the race at this point, that she hopes for a bullet to get her back what she has lost.

Believe me, when someone as hard and fast a feminist as I am has absolutely no trust in Hillary to be president, she needs to take what little pride she has left and step down, and NOT take any steps to harm Obama's campaign in the process. As a matter of fact, she SHOULD be heavily endorsing Obama as any good Democrat would do rather than make petulant steps to split the party because she didn’t get her way. Otherwise, she's going to look like a spurned woman having a temper tantrum at the wrong time of the month, which is exactly what so many people already believe. She’ll give them all the fuel they need to attack future women running for president. Hillary Clinton, you need to think of someone else but yourself right now. You’ve lost. All that is left is how much damage you can create on your way out, and if that’s all you really have to offer the Democrats after a campaign that you lost fair and square, then you never had any business ending up as president in the first place.

WELL SAID, JILL

Hillary Clinton, you need to think of someone else but yourself right now. You’ve lost. All that is left is how much damage you can create on your way out, and if that’s all you really have to offer the Democrats after a campaign that you lost fair and square, then you never had any business ending up as president in the first place.

Well said, Jill ~ your comments were sound and brilliantly articulated ~ write some columns soon. I'll post your letter ~

Why is anyone surprised?

IMHO, we should be preparing for a WAR CRIMES tribunal and give the entire election and the MSM a total toss.

Hillary did enough damage in KOSOVA to last through several rings of HELL.  Several of us are STILL living through the damage that the Clinton's caused.

Obama is no better ..

America is doped to the the gills ..

ANYONE who wants to be President of the US is mind controlled or an utter fool.

Not calculated

I'm certainly no fan of Hillary, but I sincerely doubt her remarks were in any way calculated.  It may have been her subconscious fantasies seeping into her mouth, but she couldn't possibly have thought that statement would help her in any possible way.   I think she was simply talking off script, and was going mentally through the years illustrating historically how you never know what's gonna happen.  It could very well be that Ted being on everyone's mind played a part in the concept being turned into words.

What's more, she's in a stressful mental funk these days.  We all know those times when we're just not feeling good about our lives and it just seems like we tend to say dumb things we otherwise wouldn't.

Never thought I'd be defending HRC, because I think she has delusions of grandeur and would be horrible as president, but I think many people are making much too much out of this unfortunate slip of the brain.

Obama's had a few slips himself, let's remember.

At any rate, if she wasn't done before, she's almost certainly done now. Good.

Defending sHillary

Alan, if she had only said it once, then perhaps one might consider excusing her for it, but she said it repeatedly, in at least three states, both in speeches and in interviews. That puts her statement beyond the pale.

Was there not an English King who said something like: " Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?" And the query resulted in the death of a cleric, Becket.

Words do have power. They are subject to interpretation and misinterpretation. She wants to be a leader. Is it not the responsibility of a leader to mind their language and look to the potential implications thereof?

I doubt very much that she was expressing any sort of wishful thinking, by any means. I do believe however, if she is going to hold herself out as good enough for the Presidency, that she should hold herself to a higher standard and not make egregious statements such as these.

Oh.....

I wasn't aware she'd said it in other instances. Wow, she's even worse than I thought.

Talkaboutcher "southern strategy". Makes Nixon look positively saintly. And to think that she was on the committee investigating HIM, ridiculously arguing that he shouldn't be allowed counsel.

What a hack she is.

Playing Cards

What is playing the race card? You people have been using this term for some time. Admittedly there is a race card and brother there will always be a Racial Hate Card in our country. Put your hand on a Bible and swear that you enjoy having Black Americans as a neighbor. Then tell us all that when you get into that voting booth that you're going to vote for Obama. Don't make me laugh, I've seen to many elections.

What history will want to know is just when and how did Obama's supporters ever believe that America was ready for a Black Man In The White House.

Look I hate Republicans and wish them the worst but you can bet your sweet bibby that I'm voting a straight Democratic Ticket regardless of who's leading the ticket.
