Make no mistake about it ~George W Bush and his principle advisors are not only guilty of war crimes but of instituting a premeditated torture program which knowingly twisted the legal system: Allen L Roland
The only way to bring down the Cheney/Bush administration is to treat it like the crime syndicate that it obviously is ~ and there is now more than enough evidence of abuse of power, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Constitutional Law Professor Johnathan Turley, George Washington University, is interviewed by Keith Olbermann and verifies that George W Bush and his advisors knowingly twisted the legal system to institute their unconstitutional torture program.
The Center for American Progress also reports today that Bush's principle advisors approved torture and names the culprits ~ Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Tenet and Ashcroft.
Ashcroft reportedly said, "History will not judge this kindly."
Ashcroft is correct ~ for these are indeed criminal acts against the Constitution they all swore to uphold.
These "top-secret" meetings were chaired by then National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and included Vice President Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, George Tenet, and John Ashcroft.
The tactics the group approved included how detainees "would be slapped, pushed, deprived of sleep or subjected to simulated drowning, called waterboarding."
Former Justice Department official John Yoo wrote aninfamous torture memo that signed off on these measures as long as they did not lead to "organ failure, impairment of bodily function, or death."
ABC News did note, however, that both Powell and Ashcroft were troubled by the meetings and how these decisions would affect the image of the United States, but that Rice was not swayed by their concerns. Ashcroft reportedly said, "History will not judge this kindly."

The First World Order straight jacket was placed by world rulers at Versalles (1919) at the end of the First World War. This repartition of the world brought as consequence the deliberate reduction of German power, guaranteeing the supremacy of England and France, and the new partitioning of the colonies (in Africa and elsewhere) of the defeated countries (Belgium, Portugal, etc) for control of natural resources. It also resulted in the consolidation of US power in the Pacific in the face of emerging Japnese might, and the installation of a super-national organism to mediate between nations (the League of Nations). This first attempt at world control was flawed and unable to survive beyond 1946. The Second World Order was hatched during the Yalta and Potsdam conferences. Under capitalists and socialists, its stability lay in their mutually assured destruction, so that its dynamism came from the "New American Century", on one hand , and the struggle for national liberation and social anti imperialist struggles on the other. This system collapsed with the implosion of the Soviet Union giving way to a transition phase that lasted until 2001. This transition was defined by three broad strategies;1.- Imperial domination (The New American Century) 2.- The spontaneous, de facto evolution of the world toward multipolarity, especially considering the importance of China and the European Union, 3.- The democratic struggles against neoliberal tyranny. The 911 events modified these tendencies, giving birth to a Third World Order which has the following characteristics;1.- The neocolonia control the US has over the Middle East, including Isarel, Egypt, Jordan and now Palestine. Tel Aviv will have to accept the reality of the government of Palestine, transformed into an economic neocolonial dependency of Israel and the US, which will lessen tensions in the principal petroleum deposits in the world. 2.- A second strategic area destined to fall under the domination of the US elite is Central Asia. Uzbekistan already has a military alliance with the American Empire, which has trained its army since 1995. The stationing of troops there and in Afghanistan gives the US their desired military presence in Central Asia, which has the second oil deposits in the world, and much of the gas reserves. After 911, the US has recovered the strategic initiative it had lost, and the strategic alliance between Russia, China and the Central Asian republics will lose much of its significance. The 3rd most important region will be southern Asia- the formation of a block between Washington, Pakistan and India (totalling 1.4 billion people) which will serve to contain China, allowing for a war against China that without that alliance is untenable.

Well thought out and well done, Antonio ~ however, all great Empires crumble when they over reach and financially disintegrate and we are in the process of doing the same.

The invasion of Iraq was not sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council and not in compliance with House Joint Resolution 114 (Authorization to Use Military Force) in that "the most critical WHEREAS clauses" were not complied with including the provision that "(d) Nothing in this joint resolution..(1) is intended to alter..the provision of existing treaties (UN Charter);" "Bush Exceeded the Authority of HJR 114" CLICK HERE http://www.impeachbush.tv/args/noiraqauthority.html making the invasion and occupation totally illegal and immoral from the very first day, "an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign nation" as defined at Nuremberg. Will the Honorable Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers, prosecute this case? If and when he does he would only be doing his job.

He will only start impeachment proceedings if Bush attacks Iran ~ otherwise the Democratic ' wimp ' strategy is to let Bush sink himself while they wait for a changing of the guard .
We have no true opposition party ~ courtesy of Bill Clinton.

Why am I not surprised that CNN, the Washington Post and New York Times have this major news story buried?
If there was any more evidence necessary to convict the American mainstream media of their complicity in enabling and covering up the war crimes of this "administration", this would be it.
Cheney could murder someone in cold blood inside the Oval Office, and all of the major American news organizations would cover his back.
Disgusting. They should all be deeply ashamed of themselves, but of course it's just par for the course isn't it?
And now that it's all starting to come out in the wash, the patterns are emerging.
THIS is why Powell, Ashcroft and Tenet have been lying very low since their departure. They knew what was coming.
Power corrupts absolute. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Absolutely they should be tried as war criminals.

Absolutely correct, D.W. ~ The price of apathy is fascism and that extends from Congress to the mainline press.
