The American public want a dramatic ethical and moral change of leadership in 2008 and it is increasingly becoming obvious that Hillary Clinton is a stale establishment figure of yesterday and the personification of the status quo: Allen L Roland
The Democrats are dead and need a wake up call and the American people will give them one during the upcoming primaries. The call will be for change and Hillary Clinton is not that needed agent of change . Very few Democrats, that I know, want the Clintons back in the White House and are hungry for change ~ witness Obama's rise in the polls.
As the L.A. Times reports, Hillary Clinton has been effectively playing the " earmark " game which has benefited 59 corporations ~ of which 64% have provided funds for her campaigns. Since Clinton arrived in the Senate, she has collected in excess of $1 million from earmark beneficiaries and their associates.
"This pattern shows that Clinton has made aggressive use of the pay-to-play earmark game," said Keith Ashdown, research director for the Taxpayers for Common Sense, a nonpartisan research organization in Washington.
Edwards leads Rudy Giuliani by 11 percentage points, Obama leads him by eight, and Clinton leads him by six. Edwards leads Mitt Romney by 22 points, Obama leads him by 13, and Clinton leads him by 11. Edwards leads Mike Huckabee by 25 points, Obama leads him by 15 points, and Clinton leads him by 11. Edwards leads John McCain by eight points, Obama is tied with McCain, and Clinton trails McCain by two points.
Hillary's pay-to-play " earmarks " may well be coming back to haunt her during the upcoming primaries and will reveal that she is, in reality, a stale establishment figure of yesterday and the personification of the status quo.

IT'S COST THE TAXPAYERS $2.3 BILLION TO KEEP HILLARY IN THE SENATE
LA TIMES - To fuel her rise, Clinton has relied on the controversial funding device known as "earmarking." The earmarks enabled her to win favor with important constituents, many of whom provided financial support for her campaigns. . .
Since taking office in 2001, Clinton has delivered $500 million worth of earmarks that have specifically benefited 59 corporations. About 64% of those corporations provided funds to her campaigns through donations made by employees, executives, board members or lobbyists, a review by the Los Angeles Times shows.
All told, Clinton has earmarked more than $2.3 billion in federal appropriations for projects in her state since her election to the Senate, much of it for public works projects funded in conjunction with fellow Democratic Sen. Charles E. Schumer and others in the New York congressional delegation.
