The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism ~ ownership of government by an individual, by a group: Franklin D. Roosevelt
Make no mistake about it, the principal crime of the Cheney/Bush administration has been the shredding of the Constitution ~ the one document they both swore to uphold and protect ~ through illegal wire tapping, search and seizure, imprisonment and torture.
The conscience of our once great nation is our Constitution and we have now become a renegade country, without a conscience, which is a direct mirror of the Cheney/Bush administration. It is also further proof of Rivero's Rule ~ all organizations, and countries for that matter, will eventually reflect the moral values and conscience of their leaders .
Each president and Vice President recites the following oath, in accordance with Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
There is nothing in that oath about protecting the country but that is the interpretation of the Cheney/Bush administration who have reinterpreted their oath of office and have, in the process, seized executive power, broken the constitutionally mandated balance of power and dismantled the constitution in their headlong gallop towards armaggeddon ~ while riding on a black stallion named Fear.
On this note alone, they are guilty of violating their oath of office ~ for they have neither preserved, protected nor defended the constitution of the United States and should be immediately held accountable through Impeachment proceedings.
