In 2000, it was Howard Baker who put out a panic call for a Republican stooge to disrupt the vote recount in Florida ~ that stooge was John Bolton.
In 2005, Dick Cheney put out a panic call to halt the upgrading process of the U.N and that Republican stooge was, once again, John Bolton ~ America's interim Ambassador to the U.N.
Make no mistake about it, John Bolton is the ugly, self serving face of the Cheney/Bush Administration's neocon agenda and he answers only to them ~ not America.
Here is today's American Progress review of Bolton's performance to date;
BOLTON'S RECORD OF FAILURE: " Today the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold hearings on the nomination of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton. Last year, widespread opposition to Bolton forced Bush to circumvent the Senate with a recess appointment.
Many objections to Bolton remain, including the White House's persistent refusal to release documents relating to Bolton requested by Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE).
Additionally, in Oct. 2005, Bolton testified that diplomacy has to happen outside of the New York "bubble," stating, "If we left it only in New York I think we'd have the bubble problem and trying to break through that bubble should be one of our main diplomatic efforts."
However, Bolton has not lived up to his rhetoric. The ambassador has not attended any U.N. Security mission trips abroad since he was recess appointed as ambassador in Aug. 2005.
He did not attend any of them. In early June, the ambassador passed up the delegation trip to Sudan to give a lecture at the Centre for Policy Studies, a right-wing think tank in London. Proponents of Bolton have pointed to his effectiveness at the U.N., but the reality is that Bolton has "furthered U.S. isolation" and "undercut U.S.-backed efforts to reform the sprawling bureaucracy of the United Nations."
Specifically, the ambassador has isolated the U.S. from its allies on the Human Rights Council, single-handedly blocked and delayed approval of funding for U.N. renovation plan, and blocked the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide from briefing the Security Council on Darfur."
Do you want to see that face in action ?
Watch closely this two minute interview video as Bolton says " This is Put Up or Shut Up Time For Iran " and that " Military action is on the table ."
You can literally see the self righteous arrogance dripping from this Republican neocon stooge.
And remember,as you watch this telling short 2 minute video interview, that this is the face that represents America to the rest of the world through the UN .
" If I were doing the Security Council today, I'd have one permanent member [the United States] because that's the real reflection of the distribution of power in the world: " John Bolton / Current U.S.Ambassador to U.N.

They ALL have to go!
But the arrogant pip-sqeak Bolton serves his masters, who are those that Bush and Cheney equally serve, the interests of world jewry. His job is to obstruct the effectiveness of all our nations, and he is doing it very efficiently in their interest and against ours. The situation will not be resolved until we uproot the problem at its source, an arab tribe whose two religious books persuade them that they are not Arabs, that they are superior to all others on earth, and that all others are there to be used, via theft or murder, deception or war. To disentangle that knot, firstly all our countries have to be cured of the sickness this tribe visits on us. The problem has to be exported from all our countries. We have to restore the autonomy of our nations by taking back our own governance. We cannot wait for the impeachment of all our various bought and self-interested opportunist 'leaders'. That is just playing the jewish delaying 'legal' game. All these arrogant pip-sqeaks have to be deposed, and the farce of individual 'leadership' has to be abolished, or the role of slavish 'followers' they have devised for us will persist. The rest of the problem they have created for us can then be undone, but first things first. Depose them all. by amazin (34 articles, 0 quicklinks, 12 diaries, 400 comments [12 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Friday, Jul 28, 2006 at 1:26:23 AM

Bloody Nose
Pretty obvious that the lunatic right can't wait to have this war. Yes, we are a superpower. Yes, we have a superior military. But that doesn't mean we won't come out of this with a bloody nose and broken arm. The hubris laden Bush admin keeps underestimating the people who they choose to be their enemies. Pretty soon it will be whole world. Bush must want his legacy to be the Creator of WWIII. by skyreader7 (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 181 comments) on Friday, Jul 28, 2006 at 3:09:40 AM

Cherylee to Skyreader7 come in over!
Damn near that now. Bet you can count all the countries on one hand that really truly are US allies. The little boy who walks around like he has starch in his B. O. tying to look like a man, has alienated most everyone in the world thus far. And d*ckhead C. along with D. Rummy haven't the brains they were born with. by cherylee (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 56 comments) on Friday, Jul 28, 2006 at 6:26:13 AM

negotaitions
I didn't see anything wrong with Bolton's statements regarding the current negotiations with Iran. In negotiating you cannont tip your hand, and by saying certain options are not available to you, is giving the other side an advantage. Usually when negotiations are at their most tense moment, is when the solution is found. Relaaaax Cheryl, the world is still turning, we had another sunrise today and we will have another tomorrow. Reply: Yeah, waris good from your air-conditioned seat, out of harm
...out of harm's way. Unfortunately, the sun will not be rising for many innocent civilians tomorrow.
