Mental Health Parity With Congress back in session and only a short time left , it must pass mental health parity now or start all over in the next Congress.. Each Congress is only two years long and any unfinished business dies at the end of each .So if mental health parity does not receive final passage in each house soon, it’s dead. Now is the time to remind lawmakers that parity legislation is critical. unfinished business. Never in the last almost 20 year fight for parity has it come so close to victory. If this Congress fails to bring parity to a vote before adjourning later this month , the push for parity must be restarted in 2009. Please call each of your U.S. Senators and your U.S. Representative, using the toll free parity hotline:!-866-727-4894. The Parity Hotline reaches the U.S, Capitol switchboard, which can connect callers to the offices of their members. You can also call the Capitol switchboard directly:1-202-224-3121.
