Bang incessently

the baleful drums of war.

Whip the Empire's citizens

into patriotic fervor,

the double-edged sword

that narrows the mind

and emboldens the blood

'til the hateful time

when the fever pitch

of the drums is reached

and the boiling point

of the blood has breached

the doors of the mind
