Always abstaining from alleviating waste
self absorbed parasites, glaring like cagey snakes,
like incurable thieves of our hearts
victimize our subsistence like a loose lover.

Startled by sudden apparition,
uneasy through joblessness,
our countrymen's lackadaisical carriage converts
the smut of scuttlebutt, becoming like mortar.


They command love, command respect.
Alas, angry voices fall upon deaf ears.
We emerge laughable in our poverty.
The leviathan triumphantly pens our journal.
