This year, Carnevale moves to a new location. Esquire Jauchem, event producer, has decided to celebrate Carnevale at the legendary “Beyond Baroque” which will add to the artsy ambiance and even more outrageous costumes and performances. As always, it will be a free outdoor festival this Saturday June 7th from 12:00 pm till 9:00 pm at 861 Venice Blvd (right outside Beyond Baroque, 1 block east of Abbot Kinney).  Kathy Leonardo, NY Blues woman moved to Venice 7 years ago, but never lost her New York attitude. She has played Carnevale, every year since its’ inception. Leonardo is happy to be playing at Carnevale again this year. “Every year, it gets better,“ she laughs. “When Miriam More, co producers of Carnevale told me about the new location, I thought, what a great idea. Beyond Baroque is not only a historic Venice site, but a safe haven for so much of local Venice talent to create, flourish and perform.  Kathy, a 4’11” flamboyant spicy blues singer, loves living here by the beach. She fits right in with all the eccentric artists and performers. In fact, she does most of her writing with her voice while she rollerblades from Venice Beach through Santa Monica to the Palisades and back.
