Start Now! (To the American People)

When will you start?

God damn it!

When will you start?

People are being kidnapped!
People are being beaten!
People are being tortured!
People are being raped!
People are being humiliated!
People are being shamed!
People are being killed!

Will you wait until they come for you?
Will you wait until you are taken?
Will you wait until your room is empty?
Will you wait until your belongings
Lie scattered on the floor?
Will you wait until your loved ones
Must stand at the door begging for news?

Will you wait until they drag you
Down the stairs
And up the street
To the prison
In the shadows?

Will you wait until they chain you
To the wall!

Will you wait until they leave you
There?

Will you wait until they return
With the dogs
And the hoses
And the smiles
And the attitude
And the hardened hearts?

Where's your voice?

Open your mouth!
Free up your indignation!
Express your outrage!
Let out your pain!

Resist now!

God damn it!

Resist now!

Twist your arms
Loose from their grasp!

Where are the Brave Hearts???

I used to think the Bravehearts would rise up when the Despots came. I thought men would fight to keep their children and grandchildren from being used as cannon fodder or when robber barons hocked thier futures wilh unbridled debt to enrich a few. Where have all the Bravehearts gone?????????????????
