Agitating Comfortable Christians: All You Need is LOVE

One hundred years before Jesus walked the earth as a man, Rabbi Hillel understood that the Hebrew understanding of Hokema; Holy Wisdom; The Feminine Divinity was the same as the Greek understanding of The Logos: The Word.

It was Saints Paul and John who first understood that The Word was Good and The Word was The Logos and The Word is Jesus Christ.

It was John Lennon on Rubber Soul who intuitively knew; "The Word is just The Way and The Word is Love."

Lennon also wrote and my generation sang along;

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.

Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.

Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game

It's easy.

There's nothing you can make that can't be made.

No one you can save that can't be saved.

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time

It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.

All you need is love, all you need is love,

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There's nothing you can know that isn't known.

Nothing you can see that isn't shown.

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.

All you need is love...love, love, love is all you need...

So, with love, a little imagination, and an open mind one can choose to see that before Jesus walked the earth as a man; He was already a She: Hokema, Holy Wisdom; the Feminine Divinity, and isn't that good news?

Jesus the man was never a Christian, that term was not even coined until the days of Paul about three decades after Christ was nailed to a cross for agitating the status quo of the Roman Occupying Forces by teaching the people such subversive concepts as God was on the side of the humble sinner, the poor, oppressed, diseased, outcast, widow, orphan, refugee, prisoner and that Caesar only had power, because God allowed it.

While Jesus was never a Christian, he was a consummate agitator whose family considered him insane for claiming to have such an intimate relationship with God as to call him Abba. It has been said that in the ancient Aramaic that Jesus spoke, Abba translates to both Mother and Father.

Jesus also was a social justice, radical, revolutionary, Palestinian devout Jewish Road Warrior who made very few friends in the Temple hierarchy, for he challenged their job security by teaching the people they did not need to pay for ritual baths or sacrificing livestock to be OK with God; for God loved them just as they were; sinners, poor, oppressed, diseased, outcasts, widows, orphans, refugees and prisoners all enduring under occupation.

Before Emperor Constantine brought Christianity into the mainstream, all the early Church Fathers taught that Christians should not serve in the army but instead willingly suffer rather than inflict harm on any other.

St. Augustine was the first Church Father to consider the concept of a Just War. Within 100 years after Constantine, the Empire required that all soldiers in the army must be baptized Christians and thus, the decline of Christianity began.

With the justification of war and violence supplied by Augustine's Just War Theory, wrong became right.

Nothing much has changed in two millennia, for in today's Orwellian world politicians claim the way to peace is through war and that nuclear weapons provide protection. I do NOT care who wears the uniform, or how noble they believe their cause, war is the ultimate form of terrorism for any civilian caught in the crossfire of violence.  Even as a kid I could not comprehend or accept the spin that after the horror of Hiroshima, Nagasaki also had to happen. Even as a child I wondered why America never issued a message of repentance for the innocent that died.  As an adult, I learned that in Eisenhower's farewell address, he warned America not to bind our economy to the Industrial Military Complex. As a person of faith, I understood that as it is with most prophets during their time, they are  ignored.

In 313 AD, Emperor Constantine legitimized Christianity and thus, those who had been considered rebels and outlaws began to enjoy political power and prestige. Jesus' other name is The Prince of Peace, and with the marriage of church and state, his true teachings were reinterpreted. The justification of warfare and the use of state sponsored violence corrupted what Christ modeled and taught. Jesus was always on about WAKE UP! The Divine already indwells you and all others.

Christ taught that to follow him requires that one must love ones enemies; one must forgive those who hate, curse and revile them, without a thought of payback.  Christ lived a life that proved evil can be opposed without being mirrored, and that the cycle of a "tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye", will never bring peace and justice.

Before Emperor Constantine brought Christianity into the mainstream, all the early Church Fathers taught that Christians should not serve in the army but instead willingly suffer rather than inflict harm on any other. Until the day of Paul, followers of Christ were called members of The Way; the way being what Jesus taught!

Clement, Tertillian, Polycarp and every other early Church Father taught that violence was a contradiction of what Christ was all about. There have always been those Christians who spoke out against this corruption of scripture and they have been ignored, reviled, rejected, mocked, persecuted and maligned throughout time. There have always been Christians who have never abandoned the true teachings, such as the Quakers, Mennonites, some Catholics and Protestants who have been faithful witnesses to Christ by denouncing violence and caring for the poor. There also have always been Jews, Muslims, atheists, anarchists, secularists and other's who have lived lives that embody the message of Christ; love all people and do good for the poor, the oppressed, the diseased, outcast, widow, orphan, refugee, prisoner; AKA: the least among us. Jesus said what ever we do, or do not do unto the least; we do it, or do not do it unto God.

These unsung heroes, are the true leaders of the world, for they have eyes to see that the World is one country and hearts that know that only through nations upholding The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Law; can peace and security become reality; for justice must come first.

It is a spiritual battle we all fight, for both good and evil cut through every human heart. Because all life is interconnected and interdependent we are all forced to deal with the war within the individual human heart when ever it erupts into society and issues forth from the political realm.

Mystics understand that all life is interdependent and interconnected and the Internet is the visible reality of this open mystery. Because of the borderless world of the Internet, people who would never have crossed paths due to distance, now communicate easily via the World Wide Web.

A cyber connection and I were conversing yesterday on the telephone and together we 'birthed' the idea for AWU; Agitating Women United. We two co-birthed the idea of a cyber connected clan of women agitators who are ready, willing and already doing something to begin the world again. We agree that we are all in this world together and are sisters fully equal to our brothers. We begin our infancy with hope for an organic morphing of possibilities for all good and begin with the following platform:

1.      We will think for ourselves and listen to the voice we hear within to lead us in the way we should go as we as individuals and as a cyber group pursue justice and peace in this one world we are meant to love, share, care for and nurture.

2.      We will rise up and seize every opportunity we see to speak out in defense of the voiceless, the poor, oppressed, diseased, outcast, widowed, orphaned, refugees and prisoners who endure under military occupation.

3.      We will resist and reject the allure of ego satisfaction and vigilantly maintain the higher ground which seeks the fruition of the intrinsic equality of all human beings for we honor the sacredness of all life and Mother Nature.

4.      We will do all we can to demand our government uphold the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Law.

In paraphrase of America's most radical revolutionary agitator, Thomas Paine; we live in times that try men's and women's souls and only in solidarity do we have it in our power to begin the world again. We realize that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy. The World is our country, all man and womankind are our brothers and sisters and to do good is our religion.
