Global Warming is a Blessing

By: Dominic Jermano

The earth is heating up; storms are more prevalent and fierce. Katrina and the Tsunamis are vivid examples. Floods seem to appear from nowhere from the Eastern Banks of China and Bangladesh to the interior regions of Africa and the United States. It seems our eco-system is falling apart. We are at war, some believe because of Oil, and Oil is being awarded the recognition as being the cause to our Global Warming woes. Does this make sense to be fighting for something which is killing us anyway? I think wow! The Artic is melting away, and the seas are rising which is predicted to swallow swaths of coastal properties and Islands throughout the world.

Our environmentalists are up in arms, with intentions to stop Global Corporations and the people who support big business that is causing our eco-sphere to slide into a condition of no turning back from impending misery. We have the Democrats with Al Gore earning the Nobel Peace Prize for making a movie about Global Warming and its Inconvenient Truth, with Republicans and President Bush standing against change to current policies by not supporting Kyoto calls to protocol in reducing greenhouse emissions. Things just seem to be getting hotter not only with record level temperatures throughout the world this summer, but in our daily political debates, and dealings with how to stay cool. Gas prices are at all time highs, and we have a War in Iraq and Afghanistan that just does not seem to be getting any better.

Where are we going? Are we adrift with complacent leadership? What is our purpose, our agenda? Is it Democracy we are fighting for, or Universal survival? Why is it; that if we are fighting for Democracy, that in reality Democracy is fighting against itself? Does this make any sense? Do I like Democracy because of all the arguing and wrangling over issues? I find it quite disturbing.  I find no sense to understanding why anyone wouldn’t have a mental breakdown because of all the seemingly dysfunctional attributes Democracy seems to exhibit.

Think maybe that is why we have confused kids, you know the ones who hang ropes in trees, and go on shooting rampages on school campuses? I think maybe! No leadership seems to have any answers for these problems. We have Presidential elections that select winners, instead of counting votes, and we have candidates that are so hum-drum, docile and without electric wit that we might as vote for no one, because that is more exciting. And so what does all this have to do with Global Warming?

It has to do with showing a view, and a solution to our seemingly attentional disordered lives. How do we piece it together? Isn’t it a puzzle? What is the purpose? What are we working toward? Does this mean compromise? Does it mean science, or better schools? If politicians can’t fix it, how is there a model for schools to follow? If President Bush doesn’t care about children health or frankly any Americans health, how is there a model for schools to follow when everyone is sick and no one gets better?

To take the attention away from the Oil wells in Iraq , our President has authorized a program to expand the development of alternative fuels.  After all the years of environmental warnings the Republicans have agreed to alternative fuel use. It helps our farmers. Good news or bad?  It’s worse.  There is not enough land space to grow the corn. But hey there is a new idea out there in growing algae. Have you heard of the algae oil phenomenon?  Green Algae are the building blocks of black crude-Texas T fossil fuel oil.

If we can grow algae oil we can make our own oil in the US , and really not need Middle Eastern Oil. We can reduce global warming, and be on a steady course of sustainability. But we are still amiss. Why because the more algae oil we grow, the more ethanol we need to convert it to bio-diesel!  Ugh!

Ethanol is needed in the transesterification process that changes oil to a slippery viscosity so it can burn in our engines. So we still have the land area problem which is; there is not enough. Each and everyday we debate and try to solve our problems and the world continues and constantly becomes more full with more and more CO2 built up in our atmosphere. Electric cars, solar, and wind are clanging the bell that they are the answer, yet are they? Electric cars are limited in driving range, and charging times are slow.  I don’t want to be caught in one in the dead of winter with no heat, no defroster. Solar certainly does nothing for me at night or when the sun doesn’t shine, and wind is never predictable. Sometimes it’s fast, sometimes breezy, sometimes violent, sometimes nothing. So where are we going? I have always believed we have a purpose in life and this is why we need not worry.

George Bush is good in not giving into the environmentalist, but not for the same reasons as I have to why Global Warming Is a Blessing. Let me continue by showing how I discovered this to be a blessing.

My name is Dominic Jermano CEO of Algeoil. I am working to produce algae to make oil.  I use discarded plastic bags to produce the algae in. I fill them with water give the desired nutrients inside and hang the bags up open in the sun inside a greenhouse.  After some time I bring the bags down and harvest the algae inside. The bags can be reused until they fall apart. Or I have the bags dropped in a big hopper and squeezed when I extract the Oil. Then the waste plastic bags can be discarded with the left over algae material. The left over material is later dried, then using it to slowly burn inside the green house where I have my open bags hanging to assure a plentiful supply of CO2 in the enclosure.  For extracting the Oil I use air pressure, to blow the algae into a very fine metal grid screen that cuts the cell walls and releases the oil into a catch drum.  It is a pretty simple process, and quite inexpensive to do. I suspect a lot of people can do this in their own back yard.

Here is an interesting website I found. It is called Global Green Solutions.  http://www.globalgreensolutionsinc.com/i/pdf/GlobalGreen-Valcent-ElPasoTimes.pdf

My intent is to show that I can create Algae Oil in a very inexpensive way. Unlike the billions the above website is doing. And of course they plan to pass on the savings to you the driving public.I received many emails from people interested in my technique. I will share this with you, but bear with me because this article goes some where you never would  have dreamed of; that’s how cool it is, and to me is the defining moment in solving our energy crisis and Global Warming issue.

Sorry Al

Thanks for your email. I have just started my company. It is Algeoil Inc. I use fresh and salt water, since I live only 30 miles from the ocean. I am trying Caulerpa a strain that was found to be very abundant; becoming a pest along the California coast. I think that it could be harvested by Californians, but they are not aware or interested in it?  Someone should tell Governor Schwarzenegger.
