When we mentally bring forth an image of a pyramid, we see that it has four triangular faces. If we then imagine that the prevailing mind-set of humanity or global consciousness is one of the faces and the other three of the four faces are comprised of a group of major institutions of ideology, it may be possible to see what makes the world go around in respect to our current sociology.

Three institutions that hold prominent sway over the opinions and mood of the people are science, government, and religion. This particular lover’s triangle tends to blur the lines of boundary and begins to blend together in a cause and affect interactive relationship of influence in current society. Perhaps it is worthy of closer examination.

As those in the world of science, and those who look to science for answers, both know, the doctrine has a relationship with religion that is suffering from dichotomy. On one hand, there exists a well-known war of ideas that has manifested itself in current society as the debate on creationism vs. evolution and the debate on global warming. On the other hand, brains have burst from their boxes and we see a line of thought that is beginning to explore the concept of the mystical as provable. As in, what has been deemed to be paranormal, magical and miraculous is actual and real.

Anyone abreast of current events knows that the line between government and religion is likewise quite fuzzy in current times. Part of society seems to want government legislation over all citizens based upon the group’s own personal choice of flavor of religion. And we also see that government has had no qualms with promoting religion or with censoring science that does not support the chosen religion’s positions, or the positions of the government for that matter.

Hence, what we have in this particular trilogy of diverse thinking is an end result that provides society with no cohesive and unified understanding of undisputed truth. As truth-seekers make their ways through a myriad of information and opinion, they begin to see the battleground where one institution declares that another institution is wrong or misinformed. For every fact, our society now offers up a dissenting stance of contradiction and/or disinformation. Even the Holocaust is amazingly up for debate in some circles due to the mistrust of “official” government reports that has developed. Revisionist history is a whole other matter that should however not go without mention.

One has to wonder why so much effort is put into agreeing with and alternatively negating certain choice ideas or core concepts of each of the “opposing” institutions by each in turn. Could it be that there actually is a unified effort at play? That being to baffle the masses with conflicting theorems in order to prohibit society at large from discovering that we are living in the matrix. Do we not live in a world where we are told that what is real is forbidden from exploration and that what is actually unreal is the steady stream of lies passed off as truth by government influenced corporate owned media and quite a few public school textbooks as well as some places of worship?

Do we not live in a time when apathy and defeatism rein over the land of the free where people do not vote because they’ve come to believe it is an effort in futility? Many have come to forsake their spiritual sides as well because modern organized religion does not teach the right message in our current society. While science has become the ugly step child hidden away in the attic due to blurting out embarrassing truths in front of company. Oh what a tangled web of fear and despair we weave.

Could it be that through the maze of tunnels deep, deep within the center of the pyramid that is created by the four outer surfaces of the entities of government, science, religion and humanity lays the essential gem of truth about our species and our planet? Or is that the real axis of evil? What else could cause so few amongst us to be willing to explore the forbidden cold dark recesses of the structure that has become our lives on earth?
