Through a concerted effort by Board Chairman John Tavaglione and County Counsel (legal advisor) Joe Rank, the Board denied citizens the right last week to testify about Item 2.22 – an item wherein the ROV asked the Board of Sups (BOS) to authorize her to conduct the elections on November 6, 2007. The items the citizens were to testify about, issues related to failure to comply with laws, regulations and requirements in the past, and a request that the BOS direct the ROV to comply with them in the upcoming elections, were deemed “not relevant” to the decision the BOS was about to make.
Further, when (“good guys”) Board members Roy Wilson and Marion Ashley asked ROV Dunmore to consider allowing observers in the central tabulator, consider hand counting ballots, etc., they were met with a barrage of reasons why this would NOT occur, and not a single reason as to why or how it might occur.
Makes you wonder who’s in charge around here – kinda of looks like ROV Barbara Dunmore is in line to be the next Chief Executive Officer if this kind of behavior continues.

This is Riverside – birthplace of E-voting and where the courts have ruled the “ballot is not relevant” in a recount. Simply pressing the reprint button is adequate.
