Hello to all,

I'm finally a cover girl. Florida Trend has put yours truly and our story about Florida Hometown Democracy on the cover of the March issue.

As you can see, our opposition takes us very seriously. The impact of FHD on the future "terrifies" the Chamber of Commerce and the development industry.

Please take the time to read the entire article. You will see that we have a real chance to change the course of history. But I cannot do it alone.

Our campaign must have more support to make the 2008 ballot. We now have about 200,000 petitions. We must collect approximately 500,000 more to make the magic number of 611,000. Why this number? Because the supervisors of election reject an average of 20% of all petitions submitted.

I'm not one to beg, but if you want FHD to make the ballot, each of you must do more to support this effort. Use Click and Pledge on our website to make a donation or send us a check. All the money goes into paying the supervisors of elections one dime for each petition reviewed. Plus we have mailing, copying, postage and we want to pay for petition collection. Commit personally to collecting 5 or 10 petitions per week, if not more! Ask your favorite group or organization to make FHD their primary project this year, supporting with money and petitions.

This opportunity will not come again.

The journalist who wrote the story said I was prone to "tilting at windmills."

Can you help us prove him wrong?

Happy reading,
Lesley

Lesley Blackner is a Florida lawyer and wants to give voters a say on how their land is used. This has riled up the Chamber of Commerce and development industry.
