THAT HEADLINE is flashed around the world and the peace loving American and Iraqi peoples rejoice? Humanity gives thanks and praise to the great American patriot, a young Senator Barack Obama and his attractive wife Michelle, for ending the illegal war and forced occupation in Iraq? Earlier, Obama took to the Senate floor and announced to his fellow senators that he "was against the war to begin with, it never should have been authorized"? He announced his "filibuster" to end the funding for the war and 72 senators rose up and voted "YEA" to support his "filibuster"? WITHOUT funding, the war and occupation of Iraq comes to an end. "?" = wishful thinking on my part, but if Senator Obama wants to try, who knows?" IT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AUTHORIZED". No question mark about that! The United Nations Charter "prohibits the use of military force" against any nation without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, which NEVER approved Bush's invasion of Iraq. But wait, not so fast. Didn't those 2 "Authorization to Use Military Force" Resolutions passed by Congress in 2002 and 2003 override the United Nations Charter? "NO, domestic law does not override a signed treaty" of the United States stated Nuremberg Chief Prosecutor (LINK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einsatzgruppen_Trial) Benjamin Ferencz (LINK www.benferencz.org) at a recent (June 28, 2007) "War Crimes Panel" sponsored by the Arizona Bar Association. ALSO, "Bush Exceeded The Authority of HJR 114" by failing to comply with "the most critical WHEREAS clauses" contained in the Resolution, including the provision that " (d) Nothing in this joint resolution...(1) is intended to alter...the provsion of existing treaties;" (LINK http://www.impeachbush.tv/args/noiraqauthority.html). Nuremberg Chief Prosecutor Benjamin Ferencz gave his further assessment of the 2 War Resolutions passed by Congress to Alter Net. "REGARDING IRAQ, that last War Resolution essentially said - look, send the weapons inspectors out to Iraq, have them come back and tell us what they've found - then we'll figure out what we're going to do - the US (Bush) was impatient, and decided to invade Iraq - which was ALL PRE-ARRANGED OF COURSE - so, the US (Bush) went to war in violation of the Charter -" (LINK http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/38604/?page=entire) NO QUESTION ABOUT THAT!
