al Qaeda started it with the attacks against the Shiite and Sunnis, yes they attacked both.

al Qaeda suckered the Taliban into a proxy war for them.
Iran with the Qods are infiltrating Iraq, Afghan and the Gaza.
And problems continue in Lebanon.
There are developing some unholy alliances of convenience developing between
al Qaeda and Iran.
As unlikely as it seems this is the best case to establish a caliphate of power
in N. Africa, Middle East and Russia into the Far east.
A democracy in Iraq would be spoil their attempt for a caliphate and undermine
the power of both al Qaeda and Iran.
As of now Iran and al Qaeda have no protection for an all out war in the middle East against Saudia Arabia and Kuwait, for their oil reserves, if Iran is allowed to develop a Nuclear weapon
then they will have a protective umbrella from which to spread their unholy war.
Both al Qaeda and the Mullahs are using Islam as a shield and recruiting tool to
spread their political power.
And it seems they think there are enough disenfranchised Muslims around the world
to effect spontaneous home grown terrorist groups based on their propaganda.
Gaza is a real threat, and model, it is their first victory, and they will establish another extremist
Islam state modeled on the Taliban.
The threat posed by Iran and al Qaeda is a threat to civilized countrys world wide.
And a threat to USA survival, if Iran gets a nuke it is a survival threat because of their association with al Qaeda.

Iran's Qoda force is driven by huge profits, while the Mullahs are driven by a power grab, and some like the President of Iran are driven by the apoplectic vision of world destruction and the final Imman.
