Many workers waste time at work and it can cost companies billions of dollars nationally or worldwide. Some companies factor in employee wasted time when figuring out an employees pay. Employees are wasting about twice as much time as companies expect.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics {Bureau of Labor Statistics}, most employees waste 1.15 more hours than the employer expects, that adds up to {$ 759 billion nationally} $ 5,720 per year in wasted dollars per worker for each 8-hour work day.

Some employees admit to wasting time on the job because they lack interest in the job, aren’t being paid enough, distractions, little work to do , problems with the boss and more.

Most companies expect their employees to actually do work 8-hours a day. In reality some employees are just wasting time waiting for the work day to be over.

Employees admitted to wasting 2.09 hours a day.

Human Resources suspect 1.60 hours a day to be wasted.

Human Resources assumed 0.94 hours a day to be wasted.
