"So tonight I'd like to put all the doubts to rest. And tonight, after a lot of thought and a good deal of soul-searching, I would like to announce to my hometown of Chicago and all of America that I'm ready ...." Barack Obama

America is fed up with the Cheney/Bush agenda, with their illegal war and occupation of Iraq and with their constant hypocrisy and political posturing. America is longing for a fresh and authentic voice of political leadership.

The CBS poll out Tuesday, based on interviews conducted Dec. 8-Dec. 10, shows that only 21 percent of Americans approve of the way President Bush is handling the situation in Iraq. Further, the polls shows that 75 percent disapprove. (A scant 4 percent is undecided on this point.)

The poll also shows that 70 percent are "uneasy" about the president's "ability to make the right decisions about the war in Iraq."

A majority also believe, according to the CBS survey, that it was wrong to take military action against Iraq and that the United States should have stayed out.

Against this backdrop of moral corruption and political deception a fresh face has emerged, a face of hope, joy and transparency ~ and that is the face of Barack Obama .

Last night he made his long awaited announcement on Monday Night Football. In case you missed it ~ here's the video on YouTube.
