Will McCain's obsession with sex bring him down?

McCain is "at that age" -- you know, male menopause.  Let's let the Alzheimer’s slide for the moment and talk about John McCain's obsession with sex.

For a long time, you may have noticed that in EVERY McCain interview or public discussion, this guy manages to slip in some sniggering reference to sex.  Sometimes, it's even his "wife", sometimes it's less marital, but there's always one or two moments (senior moments?) when John gets a little lewd.

And now the Sarah Palin VP choice.  Well, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I'm willing to sell cheap to anyone who doesn't sense that there's some serious funny business going on here.  The sex variable with Palin is up there in lights, and self evidently it's a variable that ol' John is convolutedly tangled up in.

This doesn't have to mean an affair (although, anything's possible with McCain and sex), but it does mean McCain is consciously using sex as a political weapon.

Now I'm just one American, talking over the electronic fence with my neighbors, but I have a gut feeling (which I usually don't put into words) that all this "sex business", one way or another, is going to blow up in McCain's senior face.

Hey, we're fighting for the life of our country here, so this is not the time for "tact".  Hence, to say it straight out, it increasing looks like McCain is in the grip of male menopause and is desperately trying to pretend otherwise.

If you don't like those words, use what works for you, but the heart of the matter is that McCain sees impotency on the horizon (hey, that's just life, that's age) and is apparently determined to publicly and/or privately act like "Mr. Macho" for as long as he can get away with it.

Here's a gentle prediction.  Sometime between now and November some kind of "sex scandal" is going to explode in the McCain camp.  No one who snickers about sex as much as McCain is going to be satisfied with merely "talking the talk".  No, the probability is that he's "walking the walk" and maybe even walking the walk with (how shall we say it?)  more than one "companion".

Palin, of course, is improbable (albeit possible), but at the very least she's someone McCain can now ogle at in his leisure and send the message to the world that he has an attractive woman who is abjectly "dependent" on him.  Plus, if he's elected, he'll be able to play that macho game for at least four more years . . . and who knows what might happen in the meantime?

However, a more likely scenario is that some woman is going to speak out about how she was abandoned and cast off by McCain.  We shouldn't forget that however corporate is the media, they just can't control themselves when it comes to a steamy political sex scandal (assuming McCain isn't steam-less). No, pug, dem, or independent, they're all fair game for a media scandal and IF McCain's compensatory and symbolic Mr. Macho acting out goes public, he will be skewered by the press just as much as any Democrat.

There's really aren't many activism conclusions to be drawn from this, since it all mostly comes down to waiting until MaCain is caught with his public pants down.

However, the more McCain keeps doing his sniggering sex thing during interviews, debates, etc., is the more realistically probable it is that that he will end up sacrificing his shot at the presidency to the God of Eros.  It certainly wouldn’t be the first time a man in male menopause threw his life away to play the macho fool.

ps:  Look very carefully at the interactions among: (1.) McCain, (2.) his (current) wife, Cindy, and (3) Sarah Palin when they're all on stage together -- and draw your own conclusions.

Hey, Bill...

McCain is too old for male menopause!  He should have gone through that 20 years ago by my calculations... heh.

beauty queens for John

Debbie,

Hmmm. Maybe you're right, but he can still be motivated to be a "symbolic" Mr Macho.  I know it sounds silly, but speaking as a man, I sense many men don't want to give up the "appearance" of potency and do really embarassing things to keep up the illusion.

In any case, this  is VERY thin political ice.  You don't ususally get away with being casual about sex and marriage, and I think McCain made this decision for two reasons, one political and one personal.  And here personal means sexual (however symbolic).  Plus, I honestly think practically everyone senses this, however subtly.

It seems lots of folks (for now) think this was a clever decision, but I think it's going to turn out to be the worst decision made by either candidate in the campaigan

Plus, dig this VERY interesting info supplied by another reader:

***********************************************************

First Wife - Beauty Queen
Second Wife - Beauty Queen and public comment last month in South Dakota about his wife competing for Miss Buffalo Chip at the Annual Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD where the women bare their chest for the contest.

Third, er - VP Choice - runner-up Miss Alaska who he referred to this AM on Chris Wallace - Fox Noice as his "Sole Mate and Partner." I thought a spouse is supposed to only have that place in one's hearth

********************************************************

Wow!  Is that interesting or what?

It goes deeper than sex

Interesting angle. Forgive me and no disrespect intended but isn't Mr MCain a bit on the elderly side to be thinking or acting on such base, testosterone-fuelled impulses? I can sense he has a lot of baggage (no pun intended I swear) but it might go deeper than mere personal power issues. There is something very dark and sinister about this man...can't figure it out yet but we all will in good time. Hope it won't be too late and we aren't all being fried by nuclear fallout when the collective epiphany comes.

dark and sinister

I couldn't agree more:  "dark and sinister"!  Perfect.

You know, lots of things can happen to your mind and spirit when you're a political prisoner for around 5 years (and politics aside, he has the respect of all of us for that), but maybe those years turned him into a worshipper of the God of War, since I think he's absolutely dying to start WW3 -- which he can (and will) easily do by starting 2 or 3 more wars in the Middle East (beginning with Iran) and THEN here come the 500 pound gorillas of China and Russia declaring war on us.

Of course, they're not going to passively sit by and watch America's fascist elites and the Israeli extremist right wing steal the whole of the Middle East.  Lastly, there's no chance in hades that if both China and Russia come after us that we won't be hopelessly defteated and/or the Earth will glow in the dark from having more nukes in the air than birds.

To me, THIS is John McCain.  He is WW3 incarnate and in that respect, totally, totally pscychopathic.  Behind that mechanical smile lurks the lowest circles of hell.

In the guise of a man

You are right. He seems to be a Dali-inspired composite of disparate pieces strung together by an indescribable power  - From that creepy smile that never reaches his eyes to the mechanical lies and re-telling (ad nauseum) of  those old stories. He seems almost conditioned - nah I'll be honest - he appears almost soul less at times. Is he a being who is controlled through his inner wounds by something sinister and twisted beyond human comprehension? Wasn't it Aristotle who noted that there are many who walk this earth in the guise of men but they are not human. That Ari was one insightful dude...smile!

"From that creepy smile that never reaches his eyes"

Oh, what a wonderful observation.  I KNEW there was something weird and sick about that smile, but I never made that connection.  As opposed to "twinkling" eyes or "merry" eyes, McCain is in another universe.

I  think McCain would be FIVE TIMES worse than Bush.  You can somehow see his "being" in those eyes, and what you see is a thing that has no heart and is willing to do ANYTHING for power.  This man is totally, totally psychotic.

The only good part of this is that his limitless egcentricity is blind to how others see him.  He "thinks" he's fooling everyone, hence the smirk, and it hasn't even occured to him that millions of us are not taken in AT ALL.  The fact that he doesn't know that (almost like he thinks he's invisable), makes him highly vulnerable.

If you see a glint in someone else's eye that warns you they may try to rob and murder you (and sociopaths do have "a look"), you can act accordingly.  And God knows, McCain has "the look", e.g., the never smiling eyes.

Deepalistic analysis, inclusive of 'gut feelings,' logic,...

Heey Bill,

and others who have commented (although I'm not sure where the one about Clinton is coming from), yippe yi yeeaaa, I do get the rest as being 'deepalistic' [my original word, not in any dictionary yet] 'McCainisms' analysis, inclusive of 'gut feelings,' logic, intuitions, reasoning, behavior observations, text book psychological patterns, chronological realities, documented in McCain's own words, comments and 'pictures worth more than a thousand words.'

Indeed YOU all, especially Professor Epler, in his overview perspective covered in "Will McCain's obsession with sex bring him down?" have taken the matter well beyond that presented in the NEWSWEEK cover story John McCain: Hidden Depths by Jon Meacham, 'deepalistic' dude.

Although "Hidden Depths" is a most accurate term to cover the full spectrum of considerations, facts and future projections and predictions for 'McCainisms.' And, there are numerous clues, in the titles of several of the TOP TEN POLITICS articles, as well as throughout various media sources without even reading the articles, for those detective types, like us, or just anyone who is coherently sentient. Clues to be gleaned from such as: "Palin: McCain's Mrs. Right" - "Sarah Palin, Miss Alaska and the Vice Presidency" - "Why Sarah Palin Is Likely to Belly-Flop" and so on.

I AM convinced. I'm betting 'all in' wit' Bill, and all whose thinking, expressed in various words and actions, make clear sense, rather than trying to make sense out of nonsense, like: "McCain Senior Strategist Nicolle Wallace says the media coverage about members of the Palin family is unfair and that the media should be ashamed." even though "Palin hires attorney for Troopergate probe" and "Trying to keep a secret
The current mayor of Wasilla, Dianne M. Keller, said she had not heard of any efforts to look into Ms. Palin’s background. And Randy Ruedrich, the state Republican Party chairman, said he knew nothing of any vetting that had been conducted.

State Senator Hollis French, a Democrat who is directing the ethics investigation, said that no one asked him about the allegations. “I heard not a word, not a single contact,” he said.

Mr. French, a former prosecutor, said that he was knowledgeable about background checks and that, he, too, was surprised that the campaign had not reached out to state legislative leaders." <This article, Disclosures on Palin Raise Questions on Vetting Process, originally appeared in the New York Times.

So, apparently,  McCain Senior Strategist Nicolle Wallace thinks that "the media coverage about members of the Palin family is unfair and that the media should be ashamed." because "the media" is doing what they're suppose to do, in investigating and reporting on "Palin disclosures raise questions about vetting - Alaskans say no one from McCain camp asked them about eventual VP pick"http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26501863 or Nicolle Wallace is just flat out pathetically lying, and trying to obscure and distract from blatant facts and truth.

I can, at least, understand Ms. Wallace, if she means "the media should be ashamed" because they did not do their job 8 years ago, and most of the time since, with Dubya and crew, resulting in the deeeep do-do that we are all in now, so why should they, from her perspective, not treat her boss McCain, and now Palin the same way - huh?

What Ms. Wallace does not seem to realize is that the MSM is no longer in control of dissemination of information to the general population, and are no longer thought about as being the most credible sources of the "news." They are now replaced by the Civilian Journalist, such as Professor Epler, so to try to keep up, the MSN now has no choice but to try to compete with the Civilian Journalist dominating on the Internet in the WORLD WIDE WEB of Cyberspace. Plus, the boundaries and limitations for the corporate MSM has been thoroughly exposed in the last 8 years.

I'm bettin' wit' Bill, and have no trust of, faith in or sympathy for the pathetic whining and complaining from the likes of McCain Senior Strategist Nicolle Wallace.

Anyone who now makes the feeble attempt to distract from these 'in yo face' critically important core issues needs to be simply ignored.
