In his endorsement of Senator Barack Obama, former Secretary of State, Colin Powell expressed his concerns of more conservative justices being appointed to the Supreme Court.  After all, Powell is pro-choice.  In his endorsement of Barack Obama, he was clearly looking out for women clear across this country.

But, it was this ad where a young girl who was raped questions Sarah Palin on why she should be forced to bring the pregnancy to term that truly spoke to me.  One must ask of Palin: Why do you hate young girls like this especially when they were raped?

I will be brutally honest here: What if Bristol Palin became pregnant due to rape?  What would Governor Palin do if the rapist was on drugs or black?  Would Palin support her daughter carrying this pregnancy to term or would she quietly have her daughter abort the pregnancy?  I use black as an example because McCain/Palin ticket has been filled with racist hate.

What the mainstream media has not truly targeted Palin on is that as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, victims of rape had to pay for their own rape kits to be processed.  Is this what is in store for rape victims clear across America as John McCain mentioned spending freezes?  If that is the case, Sarah Palin does not support victims of rape.  Every woman should be concerned, condemn her and more importantly not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.  Rape after all is an act of violence against women.

In being sworn in as vice president, one places their hand on a Bible and takes an oath to uphold the United States Constitution and it currently protects a woman’s right to choose.  How can she pledge to uphold this sacred document when she will clearly look to overturn one of the amendments contained within it?

In that ad, the young girl brings in the government having control of her body.  Doesn’t that go against the McCain/Palin message of limited government?  They despise government having any control of your tax money, but what about young rape victims such as the one depicted in this ad?  This is clearly a case of hypocrisy where our daughters will suffer should they be raped.

According to this site, they list the psychological symptoms most rape victims go through which are listed below:

Severe anxiety depression

Difficulty concentrating or sleeping

Dreaming about what happened

Inappropriate guilt feelings

Emotional numbness or irritability

Flashbacks

Nightmares

Extreme fear

Carrying any pregnancy to term is emotional enough, but add to it these symptoms and what you have is torture especially if the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest.  Haven’t we had enough torture during these past eight years?
