Jesse Lee, the White House blog, Online Programs Director was one of OpEdNews.com's first regular contributors. The Huffingtonpost reports Jesse took a swipe at Fox and Glen Beck the other day.

While not called an OpEdNews editor at the time, Jesse produced a newsletter designed to be printed out and posted at churches, supermarkets, etc., called CommonSense, which included articles published in OpEdNews.com.

Here's a link to his archive back before OEN was a database driven site. Jesse Lee. If you want to get an idea of our early roots and the site's look, click on a few of the other links visible when you view Jesse's article archive. Or check this old sitemap

After Lee departed from OEN, he became one of the first bloggers for the DCCC-- the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committtee. After the 2006 elections, when the Democratis achieved the majority, he became the New Media director for the Speaker of the House.

Here's a link to his profile at whorunsgov.com

Whorunsgov.com reports,
Lee will be key to blogger outreach and working with the online scribes to spread the administration's talking points. Aravosis and others have described Lee as someone who is almost universally liked. At the start of 2009, he organized a series of conference calls between the netroots and Obama administration officials, including a talk with Obama Office of Management and Budget director Peter Orszag the day the budget was released and another with Vice President Joseph R. Biden's chief economic adviser. "He gets the Internet and he gets politics," Aravosis said.
OpEdNews has not been included in those calls. My educated guess is that our writers have been too hard on the Democrats and the administration. It's too bad loyal critics are excluded.

Amanda Lang, who recently retired due to illness, was OpEdNews.com's first official editor. Joan Brunwasser became our second editor and she's still a senior editor and election integrity editor.
