I just watched CNN coverage of President Obama speaking at Texas A&M celebrating George H.W. Bush's "A Thousand Points of Life". He was introduced by President Bush and no less than three times President Bush used the phrase "our President", noting his history of volunteering as well as Michelle Osama's service. President Bush could not have given a more generous introduction and when it came time for President Obama to speak, he also was generous in remembering that it was President Bush that enlisted at age 18 in WWII and had flown 58 missions when he was younger than some of the students in the audience today,
I was curious as to the coverage on Fox and when I switched channels I was some what surprised to see Glenn Beck in is usual ego mania. I cannot help but wonder if Fox knew ahead of time that it would be an event that saw a past Republican President sharing a stage with the current Democrat President and that it might show that some things are above and beyond politics. President Obama spoke to the work that President George H.W. Bush and former President Clinton did after the tsunami in Asia that killed 250,000 people and pointed out that the D or the R after the name is not important when it comes to such a tragedy. It showed clearly that the country can work together and that is the choice of a majority of citizens; it also shows that the intent of Fox is not to be part of any conversation leading to solving problems, but to promote their own agenda.
