Editor's note. There are serious questions of whether this video is legitimate. What do you think?

This came in as an email link  to this youtube video. The video starts off explaining that Bristol Palin's school asked children to bring in unused video cameras. She brought one in and it had this video recording on the tape.  It starts with Todd Palin talking on the phone to his wife, getting the news she's just been electd mayor of Wasilla, where she had been on the city council.

Palin was elected Mayor in 1996. Bristol is now 17, so that should make her five or six years old at the time the video was taken.

Some quotes from the video are included below. The most telling one is about Ms. Palin's motivation for entering civil service. It'll be interesting to see her position on health care for the uninsured.

quotes from the video:

Daddy's starting to feel funny. Miss whale blubber, Miss Moose hunter is now the mayor. Now how do I fit in?

Does Daddy like that Mommy's a mayor? No. Daddy don't like that. Daddy and Mommy said that she would go on the city council and make some extra money and get some health care. But now Daddy's starting to feel ... inadequate.

Momma's the mayor and Daddy is a fisherman-- a fisherman and a moose hunter and I work on snow mobiles.
