For OpEdNews: Suzana Megles - Writer

I was surprised - maybe horrified is a better word to read a headlined post on Op Ed News wondering why it was so wrong for Rep. Joe Wilson to call the President a liar. I could give all kinds of reasons why he should not have - but the best reason is that it was terribly unkind. And what about respect for the office?

Maybe next time somebody will decide to throw a shoe at the president. Would this also be acceptable behavior? In my opinion, it is boorish and ill-mannered.  I am disappointed that Congress didn't censure him for this. Maybe a nice healthy fine would help him to keep his ill manners in check.

Had to get that out -though I am writing to tell everyone who doesn't know about Tiger Lily and her cruel fate. She was a sweet innocent little kitten with a beautiful name which befitted her. Two contemptible human beings decided that the older one's former roommate needed to be taught a lesson. What kind of cowards put this innocent little kitten into a 500-degree oven and run out because they didn't want to hear the kitten's screams. What kind of people are we raising?

On August 27th we were asked to write letters to Judge Margaret Clancy of the Bronx Court as she would be hearing this case on Sept. 2, 2009. I don't know why but the case was not heard then and has been moved to October 2.
IDA (In Defense of Animals) has asked us to write letters to the Court again.
Yes, I will re-submit my simple letter re Case# 02546 -2009:

Dear Judge Clancy,

I hope that you will get many letters in regards to this horrible, senseless, mean-spirited actions of two girl criminals. Of course only the older 17- year old Cheyenne Cherry is being tried, but in my opinion, they are both criminals. If they can do such a horrific act to a poor little kitten, I am sure they can do it to humans as well. But even if they would stop short of hurting humans, this act is unspeakably cruel and deserves the harshest of punishments.

I hope that neither will be allowed to have a pet ever. Of course, you may be getting letters asking for leniency or clemency as well. I cannot imagine why anyone would do that if they just take the time to think about the terrible
suffering that Tiger Lily went through.

I believe both girls deserve jail time to think about their very cruel act. And certainly Cheyenne Cherry, a repeat offender needs time in jail to reflect on her cruelty to a defenseless little kitten. Sadly, her younger accomplice should have known better as well. As for Cherry, I understand that she has not shown any remorse. What a heartless human being. She seems to be bereft of compassion.

We also recognize that they both need psychological counseling. To kill a kitten is one thing- but to do it in such a horrible fashion is quite another.

If anyone wants to also write Judge Clancy before the October hearing - her address:

I have been concerned about animal suffering ever since I received my first puppy Peaches in 1975. She made me take a good look at the animal kingdom and I was shocked to see how badly we treat so many animals. At 77, I've been a vegan for the (more...)
