I went to a Bernie Sanders organizing event in Philly today. The photo I took from the back of the room is below. Look at the photo and Feel it. Feel the energy, the passion, the enthusiasm, the HOPE that all of us in that room felt. Remember this was an organizing event for volunteers. Bernie Sanders was not there. No surrogates were there. Zak Exley from Moveon.org was there coordinating a team of people and coordinating some of the organizing. Some organizing experts were also there giving tips on petitioning. There were over 600 people there. One person tweeted me that he couldn't sign up because the event was "sold out" and he was turned away by the website. It WAS standing-room only.

I've never seen a volunteer event with so many people, certainly not during the Obama campaigns. Back then I was impressed with 100 or 120 volunteers in one place. This, with over 600, was mind boggling.
First we were given detailed instructions on how to do petitioning and sign-ups for delegates.
I liked this screen in particular.

Then, Zak Exley announced that people who were hosting events should come up and announce where the event would be. Then, people who would attend the events-- where training and materials for petitioning and other volunteer work would be provided. I started the video as Zak was explaining the process. Then scores of volunteer event organizers follow, each saying where. The sheer magnitude of the #feelthebern energy was incredible.
