regarding how a terrorist attack in this country would be a "big advantage" for the McCain presidential campaign, is the insight it provides into how the people John McCain has put in charge of running his campaign genuinely think: they obviously put being placed in power, above even the actual welfare of the country itself. And their intended use of this power, apparently has little or nothing to do with serving the best interests of the average citizen. It would be used just as those who came before him have used it: to further exploit, ignore, manipulate and marginalize the would-be victims a such a terrorist attack.
The fact that a candidate running for the country's highest office, of one of the two major parties, can continue to be considered viable in this light, speaks volumes about how fundamentally corrupt we've allowed the entire system to become. Enabling the current business fascism which has already virtually taken over this country, to even further consolidate itself, seems to be the ultimate goal of the process itself.....

I am over-50, live in the NYC metropolitan area and would describe myself as politically and spiritually preoccupied. I believe we (the human race) have arrived at a pivotal point in world history. I believe while good and evil must always exist side-by-side, there are currently divine forces afoot which will dramatically change the current configuration. I believe each of us are obliged to do our share in making this come about. No matter what they say, Noam Chomsky is the current authority on secular matters, and should be read by every individual who believes that political reality is too complex/subtle to understand.. It's not. I belive the secret of life is human action borne of conscience and meditation. Practicing Ramana Maharshi's "Who Am I?" Self-Inquiry is the quickest way to salvation. I'll add stuff if it occurs to me to do so... :)

Even Worse!

Even worse than the stupidity of Black's statement is that it feeds or even supports conspiracies being considered about the Bush administration disaster.   It is not very hard to think of Bush and Cheney creating their own disaster(terrorist or natural) in order to use their executive declarations to declare martial law and abort the national election while remaining in power for as long as they wish.   It sounds absolutely absurd but then so does Bush and Cheney!   Charley Black's blurting this out at this time onle adds to the eery aura already surrounding the corruption impregnated into our government.   Oh, what a tangled web we weave!
